  1. My copy of City Navigator North America NT 2009 is currently installed on both my desktop PC and my laptop. As far as I'm aware, the maps can be installed on as many PCs as you want to install them on. The maps ARE locked to either one or two GPS units, depending on which version you have and when you bought it. --Larry Oops, I might be wrong here. According to the 2009 EULA, which I just dug up and read: 2. YOU MAY: (a) install and use one copy of the Software on a single computer or network for personal use of the Software in accordance with this License Agreement. This copy is to be used by only a single user at a time. If you wish to use the Software for more users, you will need an additional license for each user. Looks like my second copy may be in violation after all. I also just looked at the EULA for the 2008 edition. the 2008 EULA states that you may "c) use a copy of the Product on a home or portable computer if that copy is never loaded at the same time it is loaded on your primary computer." That language has been removed for 2009. That was friendly of them. --Larry If you are only using one computer at a time, you're not in violation. Also: If you're the only user, you're not in violation.
  2. I use a 60csx and a blackberry and just import the .gpx file into CacheBerry. Works very well for paperless caching.
  3. I tried that link, it just redirects to https://www.geocaching.com/Membership/premium.aspx which is the payment page and shows no information. I'm not currently signed into the site and both links take me to the sice-by-side comparison of the benefits of Basic Membership and Premium Membership. Here is a capture of the benefits of both
  4. Don't know why, but laughed hard at this comment....
  5. I've noticed this trend also. When I come across a cache with little or no swag for trade items, I'll throw a few things into it and not bother to take anything. I keep a good amount of trade items in my swag-bag I carry with me when the cache is a regular or larger size. I'll stock my bag ever week or so from a few Dollar stores, sale items from walmart or whatever store I come across and $10.00 will usually fill my bag.. (hey... it's a hobby I don't mind spending a little here and there).. Now I won't add anything to a container that is a poor container (not keeping the contents dry or if it's cracked/broken)... I will, if I happen to have a container like it, replace it.. Until I feel like I'm spending too much to re-stock swag, I'll keep on doing it..
  6. Just purchased this one today. Price isn't too bad - about $20.00. I've seen them go for a lot more.. The one I purchased is the "Earth Stone" version. I just tried to go back and maybe order another version, but it looks like very one is hitting the site at one time - can't get to the page right now.. ) Here is the bummer.. So I'm looking at the end of summer before I can get it in my hands.. That's fine though... This will be my first Compass rose coin anyway!
  7. There are Wal-Marts in Germany? Last I heard they pulled out of Germany. Also, none of the GC codes I put in are listed, plus it wants me to download and install a greasemonkey script.... No thanks..... Plus, like it's been said here at thousand times before; "If you don't like 'em, don't hunt 'em"
  8. I've had to pick them up and toss them out of the way. I will normally take a walking stick with me to push the brush around to see them before they see me (kind of). Snakes are just a fact of life down here in the south.
  9. Just Came Today! 2008 Evil Micro (n) Tennessee '09 Pin (Glow in the dark) I Came I Saw I Cached TN 2009 BN Patriotic Pinwheel AS Geocache Force Army Men AS LE
  10. Funny thing about Wikis, for them to work you need to make them available to the public. It also helps if you understand how the wiki software works as a site..... I just looked at the site and there was only one cache available
  11. Usually, the "boring goals" are there just to get the TB to move. The more generic the goal is, the more likely the cacher will move it along. I will usually pick up every TB and GC I find - even if it's just to move it to another cache that is more frequently found just so it'll have a better chance of moving. If the goal is to move a large distance - one I can't help with, I'll at least move it closer to a main interstate or airport.
  12. With all the help that's currently on the site; FAQs, Why, How, Where, and etc.., the Welcome Email I got was fine. I did research before signing up and really didn't need anyone to hold my hand while learning how to do the hobby..
  13. US Submarine Veteran - USS Woodrow Wilson (SSBN 624) and USS Henry Clay (SSBN 625)
  14. After removing the "º", they worked for me.
  15. I'll sign the replacement log I put back into the cache.
  16. I think you made the right choice. From the looks of the logs, it doesn't appear to be that hard. After all, what's the point of doing a puzzle cache and not solving the puzzle?
  17. They're just Rock Crawlers - not to belittle them or anything. You see a lot of them around the south east, mid-west and all over California. If you build one; get ready to spend a few dollars. The axles, gears and suspension aren't cheap by any means.... We (well, I) used to do mud-bogs in my 4x4. Wouldn't mind having that truck back right now. It would definitely get me where I needed to go find a cache!!
  18. Army/Navy stores, flea-markets, Wal-mart, K-Mart, make my own, etc..
  19. The new laptop must be Vista... Not sure how to fix this - I don't do vista - 32bit or 64bit. I guess you could edit the security on that particular file. Someone else that uses Vista will probably be along shortly.
  20. Not sure about Geobeagle - I don't have an Android phone, but,,,,, Smittyware just released a version of CacheMate for the Android. I've used CacheMate and it's pretty simpe/straight forward as far as loading caches to it.
  21. GSAK can do this when exporting the .GPX file. I'm not sure about EasyGPS or ExpertGPS, but I believe these will also do this.
  22. Might want to add the "Allow friend requests" within your profile,,, and also anyone that you wish to add as a friend will need to do so. No need to be disappointed, just need to become familiar with the site is all.
  23. If it's a Garmin eTrex Legend, I don't think so - maybe by using a GSAK Macro to use POI's and not waypoints. I'm not familiar with the "Garmin eTrex Legend 500". Do you have a link to one of these on the web?
