  1. I can't get my avatar to work and it's pissing me off!
  2. Here is a pic of the cache I placed yesterday, Bookcrossing Library: .50 cal can with 9 paperbacks From bullets to books! So the printing press is mightier than the high velocity round after all... SteveL
  3. quote:Originally posted by SteveL:I just placed a Bookcrossing themed cache yesterday, called Bookcrossing Library and manually linked the books I planted in the cache to the Bookcrossing website, line this: Richard Paul Russo, “Ship of Fools” I also called out the cache page from the "crossing zone" on the bookcrossing site - a location where you left a book, which in this case is a cache. It would be WAY cool if the two sites could key off each other on this cache/crossing zone overlap! SteveL

  5. I just placed a bookcrossing cache today, called Bookcrossing Library. I joined bookcrossing a few weeks ago and think it the best thing since Geocaching! Mixing the two... oooooh..... (said with a Homer Simpson "Doooonut...." voice and expression). Hopefully, local cachers will feel the same way. SteveL BTW, standard sized paperbacks fit perfectly in a .50 cal ammo box - coincidence? [This message was edited by SteveL on October 16, 2002 at 08:59 PM.]
  6. and have 9 books registered - ready to be released into caches, Starbucks, etc. I released one yesterday at a Starbucks - no hit yet. I like to place books in caches, now I can track 'em! Verrry cool idea - I'm planning a bookcrossing only cache here in San Diego. Read and RELEASE! SteveL

  8. But each time we consent to having store security search our bags/cart as we leave a store (Fry's Costco, etc.), are we not turning our back on the 4th Amendment? "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated..." If I just purchased a (insert item(s) here), it's my property, no? Why do we consent to having our property searched systematically like this? Didn’t many people DIE to protect these most basic, American rights? Are we not in a fight right now, to preserve this way of life? Sorry for the rant, but Fry’s can PISS me off…..

  10. A little over a year ago, those in San Diego with a Geocaching affliction met at the first Geocacher’s support group meeting in San Diego. Anyone up for some more therapy? SteveL
  11. What else does one do in a car park.... But seriously folks, to understand the answer, first you must understand the question... Mind if we dissect your brain? Marvin
  12. http://www.gpsinformation.net/mgoldreview/sportrak-pro-rev.html There are instruction on how to disable WAAS on your SporTrack - I don't have one (look REALLY nice, though), so try at your own risk SteveL
