  1. I just repaired my first cache recently, and it was really exciting. I really like your ideas for on-site repair kits, and I plan on making my own kit shortly In addition to some of the fabulous ideas already mentioned, I would add to my kit, a small battery-operated fan and paper towel (for patting and drying out wet logs), both mini and sandwich-sized zip bags, a diaper wipe (or wet nap, for cleaning up the random muddy micro), film canister caps (the most common wet micro cause I've found so far being bent caps), and several "You Found It!" slips in micro size (to add to caches where the log is full or unusable for any reason). I'm still relatively new to caching, but I just love to help out when I see it is needed. I sure hope the CO for the one I repaired isn't upset with me for my good deed.
  2. I think that all coin traders should buy postal or shipping insurance on their coins they are sending. That way, if the package never arrives, at least the person who wanted it can have the insurance money if the post office messes up and looses the thing. Of course, this particular trade is already beyond that point, but it would be helpful in the future...
  3. There is a group of people who test the postal system by sending "unmachineable" packages, including a hammer, by itself, with a mailing tag hanging off of it, and a bowling ball with a label stuck to it. Most things DO get through in the mail, even if it takes a while. Last time i read, one of their items took 6 months to arrive at it's destination, but it did, indeed, arrive.
  4. How cool that there is this service for folks. Sign me up please! I'm in Southwest Missouri, USA, and will happily drop coins, trackables, hitchhikers, and other swag in Missouri and Arkansas.
  5. Oh how exciting! I'd never heard about a mystery coin until I read this thread. I hope I can find a coin someday. Thanks for the generosity TCDF, keep flitting around, far and wide, and maybe someday we will all be blessed with such a beautiful coin.
  6. I just heard about mystery coins earlier today for the first time. Of course that means I don't have one, and my most likely chance of getting one right now is to win this contest. :D Cool coin, I sure hope I win!
