  2. Why not - if the "OWNER" wants to change it, is it not his prerogative? I should have specified that the last statement was simply my opinion on Mingo, and in no way should be interpreted as anything official. When I envision Mingo, my brain produces a regular, not a micro. That's just a quirk deep down in my gray matter. I should probably point out that any opinion I might offer is less than valid, as I've never been to Mingo. Obviously, the cache belongs to the owner, and they can do with it as they wish. Got ya! kapeesh!

Well, the CO has about 10,000 forum posts, and could answer himself. But he hasn't been heard from in years.   5. I'm in agreement with everything except this line. The Reviewers have certain limits on their authority. Refusing to activate a cache listing solely because of the container, goes well outside those limits. There is no "rule" saying a Reviewer can enforce their personal bias. Since the Reviewer is enforcing their personal bias, they are, by definition, "making up rules". But I'm with you on Mingo ain't Mingo if it's a Bison tube. Why not - with the argument always being made that GS is "just" a listing service, if the "OWNER" wants to change it, is it not his prerogative?

  7. hmmm i was curious where that comment comes from so i found this...is this reviewer for real? all i can say is: ridiculous! Okay, so I will spare everyone my personal opinion on whether Mingo should stay or whether it being replaced by a micro is dumb. That being said I cannot believe that a Reviewer is making up rules as they go! If I were the CO I would not stand for that. Unless I'm missing something it appears as if this reviewer is allowing their personal opinion about what this cache should be to decide its fate. Mingo or a random L and L, that would bother me either way. Makes me yet again very thankful for the AWESOME 4 reviewers I am privileged to deal with on a regular basis. Oh gosh, in this particular case, oldest active cache in the world, I'm gonna bet tbe reviewer got guidance from Groundspeak, or the super top-secret reviewer only forum. Heck, there could very well be a "mingo in jeopardy" thread over there too. I must agree with the basic premise, there are many who think some reviewers make up their own rules. Yes, and they say I am bad.... {grin} No, not "they", that was just me, Frank. haha you big bully you...
  8. The way it has been for a long time is the first log you enter it has the current date. If you change the date, say your logging finds from a couple days ago, the next log will have the date you entered. This is a very desirable feature if your entering a number of caches a couple days late. Let's hope TPTB *never* change this behavior. Agree completely with jholly on this.

Yo ho ho Raine, Jeremy, Moun10bike - have a question, do ya'all sit back in the office and have a pool to see how many people on the forums here have conniption fits on the trivial for each update? Bet everyone bid under on this one..... I would bet a good amount that most of those having these fits would not have even looked at the page in question for weeks without the said update notice, yet such a horrible thing - the sky is falling, look out peoples..... This one takes the cake though as king of trivial! Wowsie kapowsie.

  17. Is there a way to turn this off, please? I would much rather see our current log activity at the top of the page. Thank you, Mrs. Car54 Yes, I too would like the ability to turn this new "feature" off. You guys do realize it is only the latest 5 caches that are displayed here right? It is only on the detailed view that 50 are shown. We can look into adding the ability to minimize those lists if it becomes a real issue. I just do not see how anyone can be griping about this. It looks fine to me. I like it. How does this take away from anything peoples?

  19. Maybe because we have such great soil here where I live that I see no issue with digging. Black awesome soil in most places by me. Also winter here has a way of fixing things!
  20. In civil court, disclaimers do not protect a person or entity who is found to have committed gross negligence. Generally, that's the first motion to be filed. If the lawyer can get the judge to agree that deleting a NA which was posted on an illegal hide constitutes gross neglect, then whoever deleted it no longer has that blanket protection. I said that in my first post in this thread. Disclaimers do not absolve liability for wrongs. They do show an organization does due diligence and can prevent punitive damages. (Clan, I am signing a disclaimer soon to make the rounds with my Police Officer nephew in a few weeks - should be interesting.)
