Sterni2009. You might not have sensed it, but I wrote with it with a big smile on my face. I know that according to every German kid there is only one Nikolaus, with his helper Knecht Ruprecht. I did check with Zwarte Piet for the horns though and he told me he has none

Again a cointest has ended. As Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet are much too busy bringing gifts to all the children I have to do the job for him. First of all. Sinterklaas let us all know that he is not amused by all the fake Sinterklazen that are going around everywhere. Ofcourse he knows there are a lot of good and trustfull help-Sinterklazen, but he is not happy with all the 10 Sinterklazen in Gatoulis' post #12. There should never be more then one Sinterklaas on the same place, otherwise it will confuse the children much too much. Even so Sinterklazen should be spot on and look almost holy. That cannot be said of the Sinterklaas in post #19 by SgtMikal or in #90 by Sterni2009. It's a shame The real Sinterklaas ofcourse is the one in Gatoulis post #11. No doubt about that. And for all you unbelievers out there. Sinterklaas is not Santa Claus, and no, he does not have a helper called Knecht Ruprecht. Every Dutch child knows his helper is Zwarte Piet. And he comes in many varieties like the poëm-Piet, the package-Piet, the tell-the-way-Piet, the head-Piet, the carry-Piet, the chimney-Piet and the steering-Piet (for his Steamboat). And we could go on with this list. But now, the winner of the cointest. It was difficult to make the decision by myself so i had a little copnversation by phone with the internet-Piet. He consulted the press-Piet, who then had a little chat with the Head-Piet, who - as I was told - had a little chat with Sinterklaas himself. Sinterklaas was very clear about one thing. Today mister postman had a little package containing the Dutch Rider Geocoin samples. The front of the coin is an exact copy of the 1754 dutch coin called the Rijder (Rider). It was made in silver or gold (Silver Rider of Gold Rider). The image of the horseman was already used in the century before. The latin motto on the front means: New Silver Coin of the Belgium Federation (a.k.a. Seven Provinces), province of Holland. The 3d image on the back was used on several dutch coins either and it ofter came with the same motto. The motto on the back means: The little ones grow through unity. There will be 4 Dutch Rider geocoin versions sold at geocoinshop.de (somewhere in 2010): Antique Gold, Antique Silver, Black Nickel/Silver (LE) and Antique Copper/Antique Silver (LE) There will also be 5 different XLE editions, and each XLE edition has no more then 10 geocoins. The following XLE versions are made: Orange/Foggy Silver/Silver, White/Foggy Silver/Silver, Blue/Foggy Silver/Silver, Antique Bronze/Antiue Silver and Dark Blue Glitter/Gold/Silver. The colors on three of the XLE editions are the orange, white and blue of the old Princenflag, the flag of the Seven Provinces and the Princes of Holland. A part of the new Willem van Oranje Geocoins have arrived. The Delfts Blauw Windmill and the Delfts Blauw Wooden Shoes have been sold. They finally went to a dutch geocoincollector to whomI have sold a lot of geocoins. And also this time these geocoins were part of a 'package deal'. I might have gotten more money by putting them on ebay, but I choosed not to. I am happy with the deal and am glad the geocoins are in good hands. Thanks all for your bids.
