  1. At the moment of the post there are 3,050,410 geocache listing in the world (I removed event and disabled cache) so you have plenty to play. Its impossible to map trolling because a bunch of DNF (did not find) will come and they will archived them.
  2. I am on Android and see the grey for the hint but I don't see difference for picture and attribute on the French version
  3. I don't think streaking is a good thing to promote because : It make you skip cache so you have some left for an another day. Also it make you find cache in all kind of weather / strange hours. You can't filter quality of cache because you have to find something/anything. Finally it make people lie (e.g. find 10 the same day but log them on 10 different days) or put throwdown just to continue the streak...
  4. Premium members have access in project-gc in their statistics under the tab Maps at a map of every countries, state and counties you have visited. But it would be great to know where the boundery of a county are because I didn't found that info.
  5. I also post write note when I am unable to retrieve the logbook from a gadget cache. The cache is there to be find so it isn't a DNF. And like previous people wrote I also posted write note when I wasn't able to search because of muggle.
  6. or most commonly if a CO gave you the permission to log because the cache had disappeared. I log the found on the day I went so that shift all the finds I made after that and change the milestone if I didn't lock it.
  7. They added this in the guideline a few years back so some geocacher not aware of that change still log both cache. IMO 3 visit to the same cache is too much because only those living nearby will do it.
  8. Wow you are lucky in my area (on a coastline) I have found so many wet logbook that it isn't even funny. Some CO like to place a bunch of cache and then hope that finders will maintain them. To answer to the current thread I post DNF when I don't find a cache and NM/NA when there is some consecutive DNF because a good percentage of CO don't cache anymore or are dead. For the OP geocaching isn't dead but the peak have been passed around 2013 in my area and slowly go down but with 3.1M of active cache (in reality I would say more around 2.5M) I have still plenty of cache to find but the quality isn't where it could be.
  9. Just writing 'wow' is really strange for a cache in Antartica. The CO seem to be inactive so that log might stand because Groundspeak can lock account but don't necessarily delete bogus log. Groundspeak hope that each CO will delete bogus log but we all know that some of them left the game or are dead.
  10. I wouldn't call it a FTF if I got that kind of information. It's cheating to claim a FTF that way.
  11. With my previous Samsung Galaxy S4 I had the same issues going in the woods I often had 30m/100ft margin of errors and my position playing pinball. Not very useful with dozens of trees... But now I own a S7 and the GPS is really great and accurate. It's why I almost never run for a FTF when I saw a new username because it's common to be offset of 25m/80ft or more...
  12. I always log my DNF if I went to Ground Zero, look for it, expand my search area, read hints/others logs and found nothing. The others cachers and the cache owner want to know if the cache is hard to find or if its still even there anymore.
  13. Perso I always use the ' all nearby waymarks on Waymarking.com ' on a geocache page to see what waymark are around me.
  14. I personally own 7 challenge. Here are the step required : 1 - Create a geocache listing but don't send it for reviewing. 2 - Go to https://project-gc.com/forum/list?8 and create a new topic with in the title of the thread your GC number from step 1 and a quick explanation of the challenge. 3 - Wait for the answer normally there are really quick to answer normally the same day and they will provide the required checker. 4 - Add the checker to your geocache listing and the cache is now ready for the reviewer. PS : you need to be qualified yourself for the challenge and there are plenty of restriction see this link https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=127&pgid=206 for more info about them.
  15. It's true but the premium member have bonus feature like for exemple being able to see Premium-member only cache.
  16. Today was my first day with the new app. Like others have said before I would prefer to see icons instead of text for the attribute because without clicking I only saw 1.5 to 2 attribute now instead of the 5 before. Also, I would suggest to put the winter-friendly (or not WF) attribute first because in a Nordic country it's one of the most important attribute to know. Also I would put the CO and hint section at the bottom because its not the main info at the beginning of a search and on my Android I need to scroll to see the activity section. Speaking of the activity it's a great addition but when the last log is a DNF we don't have the (!) pop-up anymore and I found it useful. I would expand the description to more than 1 line too like others have said. For the D/T could it be possible to put stars instead of lame square. Finally, I would suggest to put the coordinate of the cache on the main page or at least that we don't need to click again on the waypoint section to see them because I sometime enter the coordinate manually in my GPS and its a lot of clicking. Thanks
