  1. You can pick up a Palm Z22 for under $100. Its a perfect little palm for caching.
  2. What you need to do is go back out and buy a hand held GPS unit What you have is really not designed to go caching with.
  3. Just as long as I'm not under heavy tree cover I always get under 20' with my 60cs. My SporTrak map wins hands down under heavy tree cover.
  4. After 3 phone calls to them and no problems then I would say that most people here are exaggerating a bit when it comes to the customer service problems. As far as who makes the better unit is a toss up. Both make good units and both have a track record for units breaking. Its the same old Chevy v Ford argument
  5. FYI a firmware reload would have cured the problem
  6. The same can be said about Garmin To be honest I have both Garmin and Magellan and have had zero problems with either one (although the sportrak map whoops the 60cs in the woods). Same goes for their service. I called Magellans support a few weeks ago for a battery holder and they were nothing but fast, friendly and helpful.
  7. My first one (GCD460) is still alive and well
  8. That map is only available to premium members.
  9. I really wouldn't have wanted strange people snooping around at my wedding. IMO its a bad idea and would show zero respect for the people getting married.
  10. None of those would be very good for caching.
  11. I just assume that all caches can be effected by snow.
  12. You might be able to glean some information here. Well according to the information in the updates, you can change the base map.
  13. Any old palm on ebay would work or you can pick up a new Palm Z22 pretty cheap at most stores (around $100).
  14. Again I cannot answer that but you may want to start another thread to ask that question in.
  15. Most Palm screen covers "should" do the same thing.
  16. I experience the exact same thing with my 60cs. Oh and it doesn't do it every time. I read the other day to just use the recalculate and then select off road. Once we loose some of this snow on the ground I'll give it a try.
  17. Well since Magellan never provided what changes were made to the firmware then I really couldn't answer that. I will say that I updated my old sportrak map with the new firmware that it has worked like a champ every since.
  18. You also need to remember that the person that placed the cache also has a GPS that isn't perfect.
  19. "site of a tree" or sight of a tree? Umm cite of tree I'll blame it on my speel cecker
  20. And maybe just maybe you could have sent that in an email. It was a private email that I sent to you and you should have respected that. I feel that you are not within your rights to post a private email to the public. Well thats someone else's problem because I never posted one of your reviewers notes to the public. I still ask that you remove my private email form your posts.
