  1. Hello all you South-Western Geocachers out there! iBrew here from the North-East. I'm heading out to Phoenix, AZ for some work related training at the Gateway Community College in Phoenix this Sunday (9/12/04) for 2 whole weeks (until 9/24/04) and would like to hit some of the local area caches. I'm up for going out in the evenings as well as a full day caching adventure on either Saturday (9/18), Sunday (9/19) or both. One down side is that my company is not springing for a rental car being that I'm staying so close to where my classes are. I was considering renting one on my own over the weekend or trying to hookup with some local cachers who know the area and are willing to have me tag along with them. I'll even buy lunch and the beers after the caching! Give me a shout if interested. iBrew
  2. Yes, this is coming. Please also read the FAQ http://www.gsak.net/help/hs1070.htm#3 If your GSAK database is being updated with GPX files from Groundspeak (Premium membership) then the "Found by me" date will be automatically updated. If it does not, then it means you have not specified how GSAK should match your Geocaching name correctly (Tools=>Options=>General). This would also mean your "Placed by" cache count would be incorrect as it uses the same logic. For more information please see the help topic http://www.gsak.net/help/hs10900.htm OK, I'm sold! The check's in the mail (via PayPal) Thanks for the fast reply!
  3. Been playing with this program for the last day or so and it's GREAT! Very well done so far ClydeE! 1) Do you have any plans for adding USB comm options? I use a Garmin GPS 60CS unit which transfers data via a usb cable. It does have a serial port but does not come with that cable. (With this option added I will send for my registration) 2) You said that in your release of 4.0.2 that you fixed the "Found by me" date not being exported/imported in GPX file. I had to manually add my found dates to all of my 177 caches found. I'm sure you're now going to tell me how to do it automatically right? Thanks for a GREAT product! iBrew
  4. Same here I tried to run a query for "All Caches I've found" and it sends me a file which includes caches I haven't found as well. It also requires me to include an origin, but limits me to a 500 mile radius from that origin? What about the caches I found across the country? My query number was: 92567 Thanks for the help!
  5. Just wondering if I can use my stats banner located on my cache page on my personal homepage? Anyone know how to do this? Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks! iBrew
  6. Well my wife decided not to waste any time and adopted a new dog at the Humane League yesterday. His name is Beethoven but I want to name him Bear. Take the poll and let me know what you think! He's a pure breed St. Bernard and is 6 months old. I came home from work yesterday and he greeted me at the door with a BIG SLOBBERY KISS! QUITE THE SUPRISE! She could have warned me!
  7. Thank you all for your kind words and understanding!
  8. My faithful geocaching partner "Trixie" was hit by a car and killed this past Friday the 13th! She was still only a pup, just 15 months young! She LOVED going Caching with me! I will miss her
  9. Why not just the string on a stick and a very strong magnet? You did say the cache dropped straight down didn't you. Then again, if I wanted a good excuse to tell my wife why I just HAD to buy a RC car, I couldn't think of a better one than this. 11. I'm planning on placing a multi-cache with several legs in a park that already has a micro located in it. I know the rules state that caches need to be .10 mile apart. Does that mean that ALL parts of my multi need to be .10 mile away from this micro or just the final actual cache? 12. FINALLY FOUND IT! I would have found this one sooner but it seems like the coordinates were over 100' off! oc1rick assisted me in finding this one today! 14. Congratulations to E=Mc2 on hitting the 200 mark at this cache - Park & Find 2 - A Stone's Throw. I had the pleasure of chatting with him for a bid at the SouthCentral Cachers Picnic at Blue Marsh. He has placed some of the coolest, BEST hidden caches that I've found out there so far! Check 'em out if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed! Dude, Thats a Fire Hydrant!!!! 16. For the visually impaired among us, I've circled the schnake. Didn't you ever play "where's Waldo"? 17. Ran into this NASTY one while on vacation in Nags Head, NC. It's a Water Moccasin - otherwise known as a Cottonmouth. It was in a swamp in the Maritime Woods of Nags Head. I showed the picture to a local park ranger and he told me that they are one of the most poisonous and most aggressive snakes in the US. He also said that they like to hang from the trees in the swamp areas! Glad I didn't know that when I stopped to take pictures of him !
