  1. We reached the 1st peak. Do we have to what until next month to log points for the next climb?
  2. I have absolutely no idea of how to participate in this challenge. We logged three caches today. Only one revealed a "Clue"-Emerald. How do I even get started getting the detective to give some info?
  3. I can say for sure that after we've gone out and done maintenance on some of our caches, logged the work done by using the "Owner Maintenance" option that it DOES NOT remove the red wrench. We've found that there are cachers who find it fun perhaps to log that a cache "Needs Maintenance". Extra work and time chasing down caches that had bogus reports. We liked it when we could remove the Needs Maintenance in the Attributes. Seriously with all the other options we have in that drop down box being able to actually fix something easily seems a much better way to spend ones time. If anyone out there has any other ideas on getting rid of that "monkey" red wrench would love to know it.
  4. My guess is it's related to this: March 30 Release Notes Aside from the stealthy aspects of Editing the Attributes, it's probably the same number of mouse clicks to just post a Maintenance Performed log entry. I think it also provides a better audit trail to have everything in full view, rather than going through the "backdoor" to correct the Attributes in that fashion.
  5. It is?! Yes PLEASE let us all know. When you're the Only game in town you can make your own rules. Love em or Leave em is I guess what the powers that be think (I hope that's not true). We lost the Virtual caches - won't see those come back even though I've not ever heard why they were discontinued. Anyone know the reason behind that?
  6. Trying out the new site on our laptop - on the cell or tablet it was not clear that you could just click on your user ID and it would take you to your page, which shows all the normal stuff we're used to dealing with on a daily bases. It sure would have been nice (and maybe we just didn't see anything on this upgrade) to have knowledge that these major changes were going live. The new page you see when you first log in looks bare - like there has to be something wrong - which is what we thought the other day when we saw the new "site". Will have to try to get our "footing" here on the laptop so it's easier to see than on smaller screens. Still liked the previous version we had best and still stand on this new version is Not User Friendly. Also agree about a 30 mile search - it's 36 miles into town for us, crazy. Thanks to those who posted on this topic.
  7. I'm curious about this one. When I view my list of hides, I see all 75 on one page. Are you saying only some of yours are shown on the page, and there are now multiple pages you have to step through? If so, how many are displayed on a page? It must be more than 75, because I'm not seeing the same thing. Agreed, I see all 223 of mine on one page. Try Quick View, Geocaches (Yours) cashounds only has 3 more hides than you, and I wouldn't expect the limit to be between those two numbers, so something else must be going on.
  8. We are out trying to do some maintenance on our caches. Yesterday, site was normal - we could go to our profile and access/see ALL of our caches. Today the website has changed: [*]Can't read your user name or the number of caches found - tried on two different computers, text is too light. [*]Can't see all of our caches on one sheet - we used to be able to do ctl F, start typing in a cache name and were taken right to the cache. [*]We haven't tried anything else on the "new" website, but from what we've read Groundspeak should have a chat with whomever made these changes making the site NOT user friendly. From what little we've seen we can't believe that your programmer "looked" at the code/changes made. We're pretty sure that there are other changes like the ones mentioned that we haven't had to deal with yet. PLEASE change it back to how it was yesterday. thanks, cashounds
  9. We are headed back up north for the summer. I would like to change our "New Caches in a State" from Arizona to Washington, but I haven't been able to determine how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. We just purchased a Palm TX PDA. We don't know what program to use to down load cache information pages from the Geocaching site to the PDA for use in the field. We are first time PDA users, so we'd like to keep it as simple and easy as possible. Up to now we've been using a notebook computer w/aircard. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
