I was after a cache around 75Km away from the town in a barren valley with my wife and our 4years son. Some how I handed over the car keys to my wife (I keep my home keys with the car keys) as I was to climb a very steep hill around 100 meters high and left both of them at the foot of the hill. She put the bunch in her purse with the same set of duplicate keys which she always carries with her. So both the sets of keys of my car + my home were in her purse and the purse was in the car with her and our boy. After a while my son ran out of the car to hunt for some glittering rocks with his back-pack and hammer and tried to climb a loose rock. My wife looking at this ran out of the car locking the purse inside and taking out the third wrong set of the keys with her. After 10 minutes when I came down after hunting the cache and asked her to open the car for the ice-box and water, lo and behold, we are standing in the desert, locked out side, 70 Km away from any civilization in the scorching heat of summer. Just for the record, I have toyota corolla 96 no centre locking, all manual door-locks and lots of car lifters in the area so we donot put ignition keys under the car with magnet. At that time, my son came forward and handed over his hammer to break the side window glass and we came home.
