  1. Hi As I'm fairly new to this group I thought this might be the best place to get an answer to some recent problems I am having with my Garmin Legend HCx. 1. When I updated my software to version 2.40 it seemed to work havoc with my unit. 2. No longer can I acquire satellites even though I o to the Satellite status page and press the 'Menu' button, then Select "New Location", then Select "Automatic" and finally l et the GPS acquire for about 15 minutes, stationary, with a clear view of the sky. 3. The date on the unit remains at the 28th September 2007 and the time is shown as 15.35, the time I did the update yesterday. 4. I though a hard reset might solve the problem but no. Would anyone have anymore suggestions as I was wanting to use my unit on the hiking/rambling trip tomorrow? Thanks, Gerald
  2. Hi Yesterday I updated my Legend HCx to the new software version 2.40. I find that as a result of doing a direct update (not using updater) that it has played havoc with my unit. 1. I can no longer acquire satellites even though I have tried using "New Location" and setting it outside for 15 mins in direct view of satellites. 2. The date is shown as the 28th September 2007. 3. The time shown is 15.36 - time I did the update. In short I am unable to use my unit as a result of doing this update. Does anyone have any idea how to try to deal with this situation? Also would a "hard start" help and if so how do I do a "hard start"? Thanks for any help offered. Regards, Gerald
  3. Thanks for help thus far. Downloading the Garmin .exe file did the trick. Is anybody willing to help with second part of my initial email re help to use handheld Legend HCx? Thanks.
  4. Hi All This is my first post to the forum. I come all the way from N Ireland and hope someone can help me ASAP please. When I use the Webupdater it says there is a problem with this application and gives the following error message: App: WebUpdater At: 9/14/2007 8.34.26 AM (UTC) OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2 Processor: Intel Processor Level: 15, RAM, 1048048 APPLICATION.CPP-183.2.4.1.0 Exception: 0xC0150010 at program address 0x7C943345 I have tried contacting Garmin but so far no success and I'm told it could be up to five weeks before I get a reply which is totally unsatisfactory. Hence the reason for looking for help from this forum. As a relatively new comer to the world of GPS and still trying to learn the secrets of my unit I was wondering if anyone has come across good articles, helpful resources etc which I could draw on. Thanks for your help in anticipation. Regards, Gerald
