  1. Fantastic!!! I hope you repost when they are available
  2. I've never really known how to take this attribute. It does say "available in winter" as opposed to "winter friendly" which many people assume it means. Around here there are parks that are closed / off limits in winter as they are eagle nesting grounds, those caches in my opinion get the "not available in winter" icon, while others around here are considered available even though they might be under snow. One of our first caches was a multi, we didn't know much better back then and a couple of the stage were on the ground. That first winter most of the stages were incased in ice and no amount of digging could free them. We have since learned that elevated caches hold up much better and choose to do this more frequently. All part of the learning curve I guess.
  3. As the owner of the tree plant you are referring to http://coord.info/GC2MAEJ I'd like to add, we are cleaning up the environment. We are replacing the CO2 with oxygen. If you click on the link entitled CITO program that you posted it states "Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community". I believe we are doing just that supporting the environment, this is the second year in a row and I intend to keep it going for many more. I to am sad that your tree plant was rejected, you should consider trying it again its a very rewarding experience with a long lasting legacy.
  4. Will BBQ-frog be served? The bad guys made me do it
  5. Woohoo ... Congratulations Team Dawgpound!!! What a great way to start the new year
  6. There are a few apps available for the bold. I don't want to railroad the topic away from its original question so if you would like more info on this please feel free to contact me. Mrs T.
  7. Alternatively, you could just walk the 100 metres to the road, stick out your thumb and hope a bus load of Tropicana girls stops to pick you up Good luck on your quest, can't wait to read the logs!!!
  8. I usually make a list on the cache page telling people what I will supply and what they will need to bring. As an example you can look at one of our archived listings http://coord.info/GC1XPPV CITO's don't need to be an elaborate thing just be clear about the details. You will find CITO's can be a lot of fun and very rewarding.
  9. AMEN and Thank You Northern Penguin ... Good night all
  10. so when a cache that was rated 5/5 before T81 got published, then got changed to a 1/1 (exaggerating of course) for whatever reason and THEN i go and find it, i could use it as 5/5 for my grid, even though the correct rating for it was 1/1 at the time when i found it. it never adds up, no matter which way you turn it. I'm pretty sure thats covered under rule #10. "Caches hidden but never intended to meet their D/T rating are ineligible. They're pretty obvious. Specifically, liar caches are not eligible." My head hurts
  11. True, buts lets say you picked apart my bookmark list and found a single discrepancy in this whole combo rate change thing. Would you really say I don't deserve it? I would beg to differ, I worked very hard for that smiley. Mrs T.
  12. My apologies it looks like I forgot to respond. I upgraded to 2.6 and that seem to fix the bug. I upgraded again to 2.7 and still working well. Thanks for pointing out the upgrade.
  13. No I wasn't, Thank you for pointing this out. I'll try upgrading and post whether it had an impact on this issue or not.
  14. I preorderd my 62s back in June and had it in hand just days after the release at the end of July. I didn't notice the squeak until someone pointed it out to me after reading this forum. I've been told my squeak is much worse than other units but I don't see it impacting my use of the unit so am not concerned with it. I do have a problem marking caches as found and navigating to the next with this unit. Here is what it does: Navigate to and find a geocache, hit log attempt, then found (or next closest) it takes you back one screen that reads "show description, show logs, show hint, log attempt," etc .... but I can't do a thing on this screen the unit has no response what so ever when hitting enter. I have to exit the screen using page or quit, wait for it to acknowledge I've changed screens and then go back into geocaches to search another cache. My friends unit also does this ... anyone else? I upgraded software to vs 2.40 with no impact on this issue.
  15. Yes, they are kept in the left rear corner of the store. I agree with previous poster, they are often in rough shape but you can usually find a few good ones if you sort through them.
  16. We cached Sault Ste Marie and a fairly large section of Northern Ontario last week. The leaves have changed and the scenery is amazing, I highly recommend it. While in the Soo we stayed at the Catalina Motel, they have Wifi and the managers were fantastic at giving us pointers on places to visit/eat.
  17. Congratulations, thats a very impressive accomplishment
  18. Congratulations, thats a very impressive accomplishment
  19. Congratulations Norshley on completing the challenge!!!! We figured you must be close when last week we opened logbooks in Sault Ste Marie and Michigan that had your name in them. You've covered a lot of ground, take a rest and savour your accomplishments. Mr and Mrs T.
  20. I "assume" you are talking about the CITO Travel Tag. I have ordered the same tag through coinsandpins.com so you can try getting your activation code through them by clicking on this link: http://www.coinsandpins.com/act_inc.php
  21. Psst .... ALR has been met! Now if only my log would stick
  22. Congratulations to the 3 of you. Its been fun watching your journey and hearing the tales of broken canoes and stuck vehicles. Even better that the 3 of you have shared most of this journey together and all get to log in together ... Well Done! Sadly we are still 2 away from witnessing the horns for ourselves, but if the CO breathes fire I expect to see pictures Mrs T.
  23. I would agree that was a fun cache. A couple of our favorites have been Runestone - GC1CD2H (awesome cave cache) and our all time favorite Rocky Hike, Scenic Drive GC1498V (spend the time and enjoy the scenery coming at the cache from below). Whatever you decide have fun and congrats on 1000!!!
  24. Congratulations Ara 'K" for completing the challenge and scribing your name into the logbook. You really worked hard to acheive your goal and should be very proud of what you accomplished. We are honoured to have been included in your journey. On a side note I had the pleasure of meeting Tequila when I accompanied Ara 'K" to Markham to sign the logbook. I really was expecting him to have horns and breath fire, turns out he isn't at all the Prick everyone makes him out to be . I look forward to meeting you again Tequila and your encouragement may just be the final push we need to get this challenge done. Mrs T.
