  1. Well.. we ain't camping as Booshka's folks live in Chandler's Ford... but I'll lend you all a few pictures of me to dot around the place, then either he'll run away or at least you'll hear the laughter as he approaches!

That's all well and good... but does anyone make golf balls that will follow a gps waypoint rather than my pathetic swing? Maybe then I would't lose so many.
  3. Sure... I used to walk up there lots, over a period of 4 or 5 years. I'm sure we will be safe, but just wanted to make people aware that the HCC guidelines on geocaching and police advice differ at this particular location.
  4. Hoping not to hit the wall.. Booshka likes walking, I hate it... have to have a purpose and so I love caching and I need to work of the beer belly so I can add to it at night! Natty
  5. quote:Originally posted by Kera:Is the night cache on the Friday night or the Saturday night? Whichever night: 1/ HCC Guidlines discourage it 2/ More specifically Hampshire Constabulary advise against walking around arley Mount at night... just called them (0845 045 45 45) they said they would strongly advise agains being in the area overnight... especially doing the night-cache (which I first had to explain to them!) More details of happenings on Farley Mount have been posted by me in the WINCHESTER 2003 A WORLD FIRST thread
  6. I'm a kid of the age that might be hurt by such items (31) and I cache without responsible adult supervision!
  7. Hi again, Just thought I'd investigate further... rang Hanpshire Constabulary... advice is to avoid the area at night... the person I spoke to was alarmed that we plan to walk around in the dark on a night-cache! Don't know who's organising the night-cache, but hope that they are aware of the problems up there and precautions are in place.
  8. Well done HCC! Let's all show them how good for the countryside we can be and do some cache in trash out while we are there. On a darker note... strange choice of location... I used to live in the are and was one night up on the mount for a walk. It was late when I returned to my car and had long since gone dark. I was just sitting having a smoke before driving off when a police car entered the car park. The driver came and aske me who I was and what I was doing... Once he was assued that I was a fine(ish) upstanding member of society, he told me there had been a man in the area for several years spying on amourous couples. He had attempted to drag people into the woods on occasions and was belived to be armed. I was advised that the area was not the place to be at night. This was about two years ago now, and I haven't heard of a person being arrested for these happenings. Advise caution overnight, and if doing the night cache... please stay safe in sizeable groups. Hope this hasn't alarmed anybody too much... enjoy the weekend, and see you there!
  9. Well done... we found a cache with a small key shaped keyrign in a few weeks ago... when I picked up the keyring a very shrp blade emerged alost taking the end of my finger off... needless to say the offendeing item is no longer in the wild. Please be responsible with your items everyone, what if I or adrianjohn had been one of the multitude of children who are out and about with their folks??
  10. Hi, Is there anybody out there planning a meet for us North-West cachers? If so we'd love to come. If not I'd like to test the water for interest, so post here or mail us via our profile and we'll see about setting one up for August. In the meantime... heading south for the HCC... we started in Hampshire and Booshka's folks live down there, so it's a sort of homecoming. See you all there! Cheers, Natty
