  1. you need to download the cartridge using FIREFOX on your phone. All other browsers do not download the file in the correct format. Be sure to download the "pocketPC" version when you download it from the website. Once downloaded you need to move it from your "downloads" directory on your phone to your "Whereyougo" directory to get it to play properly. This is clunkier than the iPhone, but it is what it is. The iPhone can download it through the Wherigo app.
  2. Download the Pocket PC version from the Wherigo site using the FIREFOX browser. Be sure to move it from the "download" directory to the "whereyougo" directory after that.

    Wherigo

Here is a link to ALL of the Wherigos in Michigan: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=0c3ba8c7-e003-4111-b910-36198a29d7f4 126 to date and none have ever been archived in Michigan!
  4. I would say post the NEEDS ARCHIVED LOG! It appears the cache owner has no interest in getting to it. It has been a couple of months too so go ahead. Out with the old and in with the new! The reviewers usually give you a couple of weeks to get things updated anyway, so it is not like it is going to get archived ASAP. So IF the cache owner actually wants to make an attempt to fix it, then still have some time. However I doubt that a couple more weeks after two months of not being able to get to it would make a difference. If they have some medical condition that is keeping them from getting to it, contact a local geocacher to help.
  5. any updates? Would love to continue to use the app, but it makes looking for MYSTERY caches basically a hassle when using the phone. Please update. It has been two months since you last posted on this. I spent money on the app and would hate to have to spend more money on ANOTHER app to do this. Can you say refund?
  6. now that you have done this....can you update the smartphone APP to reflect corrected coords for mystery caches?
  7. So it has been 6 months! what's up? PLEASE Groundspeak - FIX THIS IN YOUR SMARTPHONE APP! I hate that the puzzles I have updated on the cache page do not transfer over to the app. Seems like a lot work if I have to make a PQ of solved puzzles (from a bookmark) to make this a viable caching option. I have to rely on other geocaching apps as they ALLOW corrected coordinates to be just that...CORRECTED!
  8. YES PLEASE Groundspeak - FIX THIS IN YOUR SMARTPHONE APP! 9. Does anyone know if you can have an action repeat multiple times in a zone. For example: I want to simulate batting practice in a batting cage. Step one: start timer for length of game. Step two: Have the ball "pitched" Step three: set a random number to determine if "single", "double", "triple" or "homerun" Step four: repeat until timer runs out. Step five: show results I have all of the steps figured out except for STEP FOUR Can anyone help me with this? Does this need to have some "play anywhere" element associated to it? Thanks,
  10. Agreed! this is NOT an upgrade. I preferred to stay on the cache page to select a SAT view. The larger maps are useless considering how long they take to render.
  11. Display of only the caches in a Pocket Query instead of all caches at once I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for this feature to be corrected.......oh wait, yes I can.....EVER SINCE THEY INTRODUCED BETA MAPS! Thank you for (finally) getting this!
  12. I believe that file may not have a "mark cartridge complete" command written into it. Marking a cartridge complete on the Wherigo site does not really do much. It will still show up in search results, it also has nothing to do with actually finding the geocache either and logging it on the GC site. I say if you played the cartridge and it works, then you should be good to go. Don't worry too much about "completing it" or "unlocking it" on the Wherigo site.
  13. Which directory are you storing the .gwc file you downloaded into? Are you downloading the "pocket pc" version using Firefox? originally it will go to a "downloads" folder, but then you need to move it to your "WhereYouGo" folder. Then when you open the WhereYouGo app, it should show up when you choose play.
  14. I just tried this, but somehow it doesn't work yet, none of my corrected coordinates appeared - but maybe it takes some time until it works in the hole system. But if it will work there is one thing that would be very helpful: In the "Selected Types"-Box in the New Pocket Query Site there should be the possibility to choose "Unknown Cache with corrected coordinates"! I don't need any unsolved Unknown Caches in my PQ, but as a solved one is quite the same as a traditional or multi cache it should be possible to include them in a PQ. Thanks Rabiz Edit: Maybe even with a new icon - eg a green question mark instead of a blue one... What about the scenario where there is a final or bonus to a "series" of caches. Would you not want that Unknown in your PQ especially if you are doing the qualifying caches?
  15. On the left pane disable all cache types. Your left with just the balloons of the PQ. I have noticed that not all caches in the PQ are shown. That kind of defeats the purposes of seeing the caches in the PQ - it is nice to see that cache icon along with it's location.
  16. Will the "new" maps ever show a PQ correctly? It shows your PQ caches with "balloons" but it also shows every other cache in the world. Can this somehow be fixed so that when I run a PQ I can see exactly what is in it and not what I did NOT want in it? Kind of makes PQs useless from a "see the results" perspective.
  17. I have uninstalled the original builder. I have installed the Groundspeak builder I have overwritten the Groundspeak builder with the a_snail file When I open the builder and go to emulator mode, it stops working. Can someone give me some guidance on how to get this to run on Windows 7? I have tried the instructions above but not getting any success. Is there an issue with the .NET thing I may need? I think my computer has version 4 on it. Is this what is hosing me up?
  18. Well it looks like this only worked for a couple of months. The Emulator portion is not working anymore. To be more specific, it lets me emulate a file I have the native LUA for, but not a GWC file (and since this is needed for a local Wherigo, this is a problem). Anyone smart enough to help me out?
  19. Recently Michigan reached the milestone of 100 Wherigos placed. The unique element of this milestone are that none have ever been archived. I was curious about the hiders and finders of Wherigo caches around the USA, Canada, and the world. How many Wherigo FINDS do you have? How many Wherigo HIDES do you have? What is your primary equipment for Wherigo? What is your primary development tool for Wherigo? I look forward to seeing how well received Wherigo is. As for my stats.... 114 Wherigo FINDS 5 Wherigo HIDES Equipment: I use a Colorado 300, but recently got a smart phone and loaded the WhereYuoGo app. Primary development tool: Was the Groundspeak Wherigo Builder, but the 3 Wherigos I am working on right now have all been done with the URWigo software.
  20. recently got an OS upgrade to Windows 7 on the new laptop. Then discovered the Groundspeak Builder did not work. The updates above appear to have worked on my end. I was able to open a cartridge (LUA file) now, and open a GWC file in the emulator. Thanks for posts everyone.
  21. Take the leap and make it a Wherigo cache!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. headstone reading is done a lot Just make sure the cache pages says what to do at each stage with the dates/names found.
  23. You can "pre-review" your own cache by using the search feature on the geocaching site. Enter your coords for your cache location, and give it a search radius of 1 mile and you will get results of nearby caches. This is a fast way to see if there are any other caches in the 0.1 mile radius. Of course this does not help with multis or puzzles, due to additional (hidden) waypoints for those caches, but at least it tells you the starting coords for all caches nearby.
  24. Discovered who the Stranger in the Alps is and I solved the puzzle. Now I must go take a hike! Thanks for the fun "SITA"
