  4. So maybe I am just a bit slow and don't understand how to use this feature..... However maybe I am brilient and have a great Idea for you. I recently took a trip to see a friend on the Colorado river and could not figure out a good way to create a route along the river. I kept on wanting to put me on a road. Just thought this would be a cool feature for those who might be taking a boat/kayak/float trip I emailed the HQ and was advised to also post my Idea here so there you go. Just a little suggestion from a fan. Cheers Swedishbrick p.s. When you going to make me a job offer?
  5. So I am getting close to that Number 100 mark and want to make it a memorable Find. I did the HQ for number 50! Looking for your input on your favorite cache in the greater Seattle, Everett, Woodenville, Kirkland... Etc Area. I got a little Pint that goes with me most the time so It can't be a long hard hike (He's only 22 months old) Thanks for the input and help! Swedishbrick (formally Guinness Stout) Cheers!

  9. I have a Jeep "Jogging" stroller that I have taken on a few of our trips out and it works alright air filled wheels and spings on the back wheels. I however use my backpack way more often the Jeep stroller does not fold up very small and unless your going on long walks for your finds the back pack just is way less hassle. Plus the back back has a some storage for swag and an pen.... Hope this helps.... I do love my jeep stroller however.....
  10. Taking a poll what gps unit do you think is the most spot on? (Accurate) Also what unit gets the best reception? (Under tree canopy in city ect.) Best all around unit? Best bang for your $$$$ ?
  11. 2.14 makes it a GEN1 eTrex, the first model that was replaced with the GEN2 model that had WAAS, replaced by the current GEN3 eTrex H. As far as tricks, if you use GSAK, use the "drop 2" setting in the waypoint names to cut the "GC" off the front of cache ID's as the unit can only have 6 digit waypoint names, and newer cache codes are 7 digits. Thanks for the info! Picked up for $20 and sure does make finding caches a bit easier... thanks and send me an IN-N-Out burger please double double animal style!
  12. I am sorry you guys are correct that is the software ver. could not find the model number but it's yellow and think an older unit.
  13. Just got a ETrex 2.14 off c/l and wanted to know any tricks or tips on this unit. Is it worth getting the PC cable? (got my first find today with a GPS unit, Third over all find) Cheers! Think I got a great deal on the unit.
  14. So saw and add on C/L for this unit and can pick it up for 20-30 is it worth it for a beginner as myself or better off saving my money? Thanks in advance for you input.
  15. Thanks for the input. If the weather holds I am going to try and hit a few today that are near by. Figured how to put them into my Megellan Maestro 3225 (not a great unit for geocacheing) takes a little bit of time to get them loaded but with that and my pocket Pc should be able to get this party started. Then I will keep an eye out for a new/used unit. Garmin is the way I am leaning. Thanks again!

  17. So have a seven month old son that I am at home with taking care of few days each week. So I am thinking that Geocaching would be a great way to get out enjoy the weather and check out some new parks and areas of the local area I might not otherwise go to. Plus as he gets older we can go after more and more difficult caches. That being said wanted your opinions on best bang for your buck unit that will provide good resource for geocaching. Or if you have hid your old unit tell me where and I will pack the little guy up and go hunt it down! :-) If it stops raining going to try my first find at a local Park w/o GPS assistance. (Thank you Google earth)
