  1. Some hard choices here, they all look real nice however if there is a choice of 1 then I will have to go C.
  2. If they were any of my bugs or coins & you contacted me, I would just ask for you to dip them & possibly grab a photo too.
  3. Tennessee, I am interested if you still have 1 floating around.
  4. I am interested in trading for a green coin if possible. Email has been sent thru your profile.
  5. If you have anymore to adopt out, let me know please. I will take one. Thanks in advance. List updated. 1 left. I am also available to adopt any coins you wish to have me adopt.
  6. If there are other coins that need adopted, I am willing to adopt some again. Thanks.
  7. 2golfers, Thank you for the adoption. Check your email for a message I sent thru GC.
  8. Sounds interesting. I know we had a blast doing the AGTs, now we will have to check this one out. Cattaraugus County in New York, which borders McKean and Warren Counties in Pennsylvania, started a geotrail this year. Half of the caches came out this year and half are coming out next year. There is a designated cache in each municipality you need to find. When you find that cache you can send for a wooden nickel. Once you have collected all 32 wooden nickels you are eligible to receive your geocoin. Enchanted Mountains Geotrail
  9. If possible i would like to adopt a coin also, please let me know. Thank you
  10. Cerberus1 brought up some good & valid points. Another that I would offer you is when you go to a SGL parking area, look around to see if there are any other vehicles parked there. Great indication as there maybe a hunter or hunters in the general area. Along with seriously please wear the blaze orange as required by the PAGC at all times while in the SGLs. As for a cemetery being in a SGL, I never that there were any at all, until I started geocaching a few years back. When I did a cache called the Forgotten War? GC11RHH, the final is on the edge of SGL 199 & a very old cemetery with approx "20 residents" from the war of 1812. It was much to my surprise to find a cemetery within the SGLs with the closest parking area for the SGLs approx 1/4 mile away. (Not that you can not park on the side of the road & grab the final real quick.) This is 1 of 2 old cemeteries that I have found to be within the SGLs of at least NW Pa. IMHO, if you see a hunter in the area, walk away & come back later for the cache (Most likely on a sunday when hunting isnot allowed for SGLs in Pa.).
  11. Sitting here dealing with a URI (Upper resp infection) and have not been able to cache for a few weeks now. I stopped by here to see what was going on, looking at this thread really provided some great laughs for me now. Thanks for making my day alittle brighter with all the laughs.
  12. Quite a few things can play into the factors of a cache being found quickly or not, as some have already mentioned in their posts. Trust me it will be found by a cacher soon enough.
  13. I am venturing to guess the cacher means a "Pool Oodle" those syrofoam things kids use in the pools. But then I could be wrong also.
  14. My younger Sister & Brother in law had just recently dealt with a cacher of the same "caliber" as you are. If memory serves me correctly, this cacher had only 20-30 finds 0 hides and complainted in almost the same fashion. IMHO everyone is entitled to their own opinion (We all know this & use it too.) However the cacher could have been slightly more constructive in his/her wording pertaining to your cache(s) &/or any other caches that he/she may have already found. I am not going to venture in guessing this person's age by their wording though. I am sure everyone has their own opinion of the optinimal (sp?) cache hide that they would like to find, whether it be a lamp skirt or smack out in the middle of the woods & marsh in chest high deep leech & snake infested waters. But it is up to the cache owner to provide a decent hide in their own eyes or a lousy hide for others to find. You can be either constructive in a sense by contacting the cacher & ask what he/she may think would be better in helping you provide a decent hide in their eyes, or brush it off and move on. By the sounds of his/her post within your cache page "This Cach really sucked I don't know what would make someone think this was a good place to put on. After I was done finding this cach I had to go home and change because of all the thorns I had in my pants." should have either read the attributes better and other logs to get a little better sense of approach, or just simply went in the wrong way period. Either that is on him/her and not you as the cache owner (provided you have some attributes within your page reflecting any potential problems that can arise.) Dont sweat it though. Recently a few cachers have just did own of my multi hides. 2 of them were not happy simply of the placement for the 1st stage & they clearly stated this in their respective logs. Does this mean I am going to run out & change the first stage or even the final stage to please them? Nope, nien, Nyet, Nadda & No. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, they simply stated it within their logs & it is fine with me. If they feel that way that is their own, but I see it this way though. There are plenty more caches in the area that I live in, that are far more off the wall or placed completely different or close to the same manner as I have placed my first stage & sometime they will run into these caches. I just simply say Have fun & keep whining, or simply read previous logs & choose then whether or not to do the cache.
  15. Hide your 1st cache when you think it is best & you feel comfortable on hiding it. I beleive I hid my first around my 25th find. I felt alittle more comfortable then in getting to know a good or decent hide -vs- a bad hide then, however after 2 yrs I am still learning more the difference between good & bad though. Use your best judgement in deciding it. Everyone here has quite a good input to it so far, with the time frame ranging from 1 -100 caches, that is under their own comfortable judgement. As said before there is no set guideline to when a cacher can set their first hide. As for the brown texture paint idea I have found from personal experience is to paint the container with 2 good camo paint coats first, apply the texture paint with 1 or 2 coats, another coat of camo paint & a final of texture paint. It seems the Texture paint seems to adhere better on another paint coat -vs- placing the texture paint on itself in inclement weather. Have fun & enjoying your caching time.
  16. A 45 gal (approx) Rubbermaid Tote GCR61C Old School Caching by BPratt located in Venango County Pa.
  17. Count me in the "yes" section also. I have personally have not had it happen yet with any of my caches, but have seen it with a few others.
  18. Does this really work by chance?? ROFL, Yes it does with you Keystone. I know between the team I belong with & myself on a few occassions we worked together in getting a cache placed when you have reviewed them.
