  1. Check your PMs thru the geocaching site.
  2. The $25 fee is being applied through all of the State Parks in the Commonwealth of Pa.
  3. Chilehead, I will agree with you about the Lighthouse part. What got me though was the final is a trash strewn lot. IMHO the final could have been placed somewhere near the land lighthouse (a previous cache was there before) & made a waypoint for the cachers to view the Black & White Lighthouse @ the end of the North Pier. But then again everyone is different & has their own difference of what they "feel is nice" for other cachers to see.
  4. Thank you for all the hard work & dedication involved. Will the pins be for sale by chance?
  5. Thank you Sandy for clarifying this for me. Actually, EarthCaches published prior to the guideline change in January were not grandfathered, so changes should be made to those caches if the logging requirements do not meet current guidelines.
  6. Check your PM thru Geocaching.com I attempted to send one thru the forums but it stated you did not exsist.
  7. No your not making it complicated at all with starting your own group. Enjoy it & have fun.
  8. They do freeze in the winter, however once they are warmed up to room temp they will work again. One of my younger nieces told me earlier this summer if I use one for about an hour or so to place it back in the freezer for the next use. I tried it and it worked with no problem at all. I use them mainly when fishing at night with friends or family members (mainly kids).

    Newbie!

Welcome aboard, stay safe & have fun
  10. I know generally when My wife, myself & other members of our team do a earthcache, one of us will send the answers in for all. We explain to the owner that answers are submitted for xxx, xxx,,xxx,,,xxx,,, & so forth generally if all our answers are the same. There has been once or twice to where either myself or one of our team members have come up with a completely different answer -vs- the remaining. In that case, within the same email it is generally "put all the answers are for,,,,, with the exception of xxxx,,, who's answer is this" Earthcaches are generally the ones I try to log first so as not to forget the information that was requested & then try to remember it a few months later.
  11. I beleive the no photo requirement was all earthcaches that were approved from Jan 01 2010 & presnt. To my understanding it does not include any earthcache from Dec 31 2009 & prior, but I may be wrong though.
  12. If I go & cannot find it then I will post my dnf for that day. However later I go back to avenge that dnf though.
  13. We just finished up the Eastern Lake Erie region of the trails from Pa to Chautauqua County NY last week. Very nice series, there was ONLY 1 cache that I felt truly was a waste of time & space. The first stage took to you within 1 block of Erie's 1st land lighthouse however the final was on a rundown trash strewn weed overgrown lot about 2 blocks west of the Land Lighthouse. But other than that one the ELE section of it was awesome to say the least. Spots that I never knew really exsisted until this trail series came about. Going to start & finish the Buffalo/Niagara region next week coming up.
  14. I did also put this thru our local boards here in NW Pa and needless to say was really happy with the responses there. As I stated to them, I am going to wait until Tuesday to figure out what I am going to do with this cache. I also have a alt spot located if need be.
  15. I better found & put my raise date on here soon considering Sparty Santa was my guide through everything. (Have to search for it. )
  16. I also did CLEARLY explain the Police Chief that the container being used WOULD BE a clear lock-n-lock container with the geocaching sticker & proper contact information for on & within.
  17. Ok being the decent geocacher that I am. I have been in the process of getting ready to place another AGT in Crawford County. I have been looking at the Crawford County Convention & Visitors Bureau/ Spoke with the Exec Dir for the CCCVB & have full permission & cooperation of placing a AGT there. Went down on the 30th of Aug, spoke with Erin about it also, we decided to where the placement would be & so forth. So I went about & shot the cords for the placement, cme back & started working on the page for it. Now knowing this is considered a "business related cache" & so forth, I shot an email off to oneof the Moderators asking for his opinion on the proper submit of this cache. I went down to Vernon Twp Police Dept earlier this AM to explain to them that I was putting a cache container on the outside of the CCCVB & with their full cooperation & permission. Along with explaining to what geocaching is & about the AGT program. Needless to say, I was STONGLY WARNED againist placing such within the jurisdiction of Vernon Twp Crawford County by the Chief of Police. With his words of a person will be ARRESTED on the spot if found geocaching in Vernon Twp, charged with tresspassing & a possible charge of creating a catastrophe (sp?) if Fire, Ems, Police & the Bomb Squad is called out for such. If a cacher is caught & arrested (which he admanmently made clear he will arrest them personally if need be) I explained to him the approx amount of geocaches within the Twp borders & again he was rather shocked to say the least. He then left the room for a moment as I spoke with one of their Officers about geocaching & brought back the Twp Solicitor. I again explained to her what geocaching was & the intent of the AGT Program. She had stated that she had heard of the program before & was also notreally sure about it. She had also explained that the Twp would & is completely againist the idea of geocaching within the Twp borders, becasue they (the Twp Leaders may feel that we geocachers are trespassing on their property. They would have NO PROBLEM if the cache was INSIDE a said business though. So needless to say, if anyone is geocaching in Vernon Twp Crawford County (This includes Rouch Park & the EBT Bike Trails) you are subject to arrest. I went back & explained the problem to Juanita Hampton the Exec Dir of the Crawford County Convention & Visitors Bureau & agreed upon placing the cache container inside their office with posted hours of operations & so forth. Now the first question I have is whom or how do I go about with Groundspeak in getting their permission to place such a cache within the CCCVB? Whom do I speak with?
  18. Found a rather interesting link pertaining to Masonic Geocaching.
  19. I am a Master Mason from Eureka Lodge #366 Union City, Pa.
  20. Quite a bit of my hides are located in SGLs. As it has been mentioned before post on the cache page about SGL's orange rule. Also for the 2 weeks of Buck, disable your cache(s) then re-enable them afterwards. Good luck & enjoy.
  21. 45 mintues to a hour away from my place, you I will be there!!!!
  22. I have kept all my AGT coins. I have sent out proxy copies of a few them though.
  23. I agree with Knowschad about the wet log issues. Starting to see more of these types of hides around my area.
