  1. Thanks for the help guys... All fixed now, deleted and renetered...
  2. Well thank you, I will do that... Sounds like a 'bug' to me ;-) Maybe the admin will read this and look into it...
  3. Quick rundown... Was caching, found TB Monster Truck XXXVIII: Equalizer... Created a new cache, listed and activated it... filled out form right, and put the TB in it... All was good, cache showed it listed Listing went active, and now the TB does not show up... Cache has yet to be found, only went active today Any ideas???
  4. Before you program and design a website, and put alot of effort into it... maybe you want to try it first? oh well to each their own I still suggest the event idea! Central Ontario Geocachers (COG) - made an event cache in Minden (30 minutes from Haliburton?) this february to do group caching. It started as a thread that got alot of local interest on the COG forums. all he did was start a thread on our forums, and before we knew it there were 20 people hiking 30 kilometers through the bitter february wilderness~! Oh don't get me wrong here... I will be attending a few of the events in the area, that is high on my todo list, there is one this weekend, but I am not able to go because I have to photograph a wedding... Just thought that this was a good idea, and to help the geo-community grow and give them more tools... And I like to create websites... I write alot of PHP scripting... Also feel that I am doing my part...
  5. I have started the process of registering geocachingteams.com I may need some help if anyone is interested and has some ideas
  6. Thanks for all the replies and advice... Is there no where that has an orginized team listing with total caches??? Or do I see a website in the making here to do this??? Would anyone be interested in this? I can make the site, and register the domain name, and host it...
  7. I have a question and request... I see teams, and partners looking for caches and posts in the forums and logs. Being new to GC'ing and doing this with my kids, I would be interested in getting a partner to GC with, to share fuel, and adventures with. So is there a place that I can go to chat with people that may be interested in this, and find someone in my area to go with? It is not always safe to be doing this alone. And someone please explain teaming to me, is this just a name, or is there records kept for a registered team??? Rob
  8. "Whether or not they should be there is a matter of opinion" True enough... I was not complaining, just questioning... I personally would rather not see them, just show me the ones that are worthy of finding...
  9. So should it not be hidden?
  10. do a search with the following postal K0M 1R0 on the first page there is a crossed out one, just wanted to know why it is there?
  11. Just re-read this, sounds like I am complaining... I am not just wanted to know why... Figured that they would not be showing at all unless they are active...
  12. I am doing a search in my area, and I am finding that there are crossed out or archived geo's showing up... Is there a reason for this? It is clear in the comments that this is gone, and on private property... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...03-ce83fd92f13f
  13. So you broke it!!! I am getting them too...
  14. Ah... I was not aware that I could fill it with random numbers till I had the right ones... There is a good tip... Thank you for your time...
  15. I am still new to the game and the website, I did a search and did not find a request for this feature so here we go... Getting prepared to hide my first cache, got the perfect place in mind, got the tin ready to go with all the print outs in it, and I was filling out the geo sticker to go on the outside of the tin as well as a certificate for the first to find. *Trying to make it fun for my young kids, they got to color it* Anyway, it seems that there is some information on the geo sticker as well as some of the other paper work that I can not fill out such as the GC number, not until it is approved I guess... I did notice that there is a 'do not publish' area when filling out the online form for a new find, so that the approvers do not get it until it is ready, great idea, but for me this means that I have to visit the site at least twice. To find it, then to get the local numbers, before I can get my GC number, then go back to finish the paper work with the GC numbers on the tin as well as the FTF cert. OK for my request... Can there be a way to reserve or get the GC number before the hide??? Then set an expiry time on it like a week... If I don't complete it, it goes back into the pool... Or have I just completely missed something??? Rob
  16. Thanks for all the replies... I like the idea of just the printable print, and the notes... That with a three ring binder and a hole punch I think I will be good to go!
  17. Sorry if this is posted somewhere, I searched but was not able to find anything... As a new player, and having found my first cache, I was thinking about creating a personal log book, and I am sure that I am not the only one that has done such a thing... The question is the formatting of the book or the layout. I would like to get it done right the first time, and if I just simply start a book, then find a better idea later and want to adapt, I am the type of person that would re-write the whole book to the new format, so in trying to save myself the agrivation later I thought I would post a note and see what others are doing and what ideas they have going on for their personal log books...
