  1. I'll be in Bratislava on July 17 for the day. Is that close? Leeroyboy
  2. I was in Wisconsin in May and there were some caches placed in trees over a river. You either waded to the tree or used a kayak/boat to get to the tree, then had to scale up about 20 feet to get to the cache. Hey, I found the cache. It was right there, in plain sight, a match container hanging from a small limb. As I only had one pair of shoes I didn't wade out to the tree. No signed log. No smiley for me.
  3. I'm just curious... someone dropped a travel bug in a cache, and their online log was deleted because they didn't sign the physical log? I know some people are really sticklers, but c'mon... they dropped the TB. They obviously found the cache. I can't imagine deleting a log under those circumstances. Suppose that Travel Bug was a plush Beanie Baby and the Cache was a micro film Cannister? The Travel Bug was then retreived immediatly. Wouldn't you be suspicious?
  4. I am curious if the local cache owners cared enough to delete the logs. I'll let ya know this Saturday. One of my caches was logged as a 'find' by the couple in question and I'll be checking my cache then. It's got a fresh log so the 'full log' excuse is out of the picture. I'm also skeptical of the 'no pen' excuse. One of my favorite things to do is go to a geoevent and say out loud, "Anyone got a pen?" and watch every single person go reaching. Real geocachers ALWAYS carry a pen or pencil, usually more than one. I can promise you, there are pens for sale in Hawaii.
  5. I travel with a small plastic shark I got at a Pier 1 about 30 years ago. I call it the Party Shark. After awhile friends would go on vacations and ask to take the Shark with them. He's been to more exotic places than me, including Mongolia. He's also been to China, twice. I still haven't been there.
  6. There's also several along the North Shore. If you're in Kailua there's a few in Lanikai. Also some fun ones on the east side along Makapu Lighthouse and Sandy Beach. When are you gonna be on Oahu in June? If I'm around you can contact me. I love showing off my Island.
  7. Aloha, I'm leeroyboy and I'm a Newbie. My friend Konacoffee introduced me to geocaching this Spring. She would bring some printouts to work and I would help her solve the puzzles. She explained the GPS to me but I never went out geohunting with her.......till last week. We found 3 caches in about 2 hours. I was hooked. I found this site and lurked for only one day before registering. Once I get my feet wetter and learn to use a GPSr I hope to start contributing and hiding my own caches. I'm a bit isolated here in Hawaii but there's lots of caches to be found. leeroyboy
  8. Beautiful cache there. Someday I hope to find it. Question......... Are arrowheads OK to use as swag ? leeroyboy
  9. I'm famous in certain circles at a certain time of the year. leeroyboy
  10. My 1st post. My first geocaching trip was last Friday and Konacoffee and I found 3 caches. I've been a nurse for longer than I want to admit. I work in surgery. It's still great. leeroyboy
