  1. No London fog??!! And I suppose there are no Leprechauns in Ireland either. Yea, right. What a dreamer you are! lol
  2. Another thought that no one will care about.... The GSA coin is not special to me for any reason. It does not evoke special memories. It doesn't add to a collection of previously obtained GSA coins (any coins for that matter). It will not make my children happier, nor make them more super hero-ish. It will not make my life happier either. I simply think it looks cool and has good graphics. Would I sell it if I got one? Maybe. Is it likely? No, because I think it looks cool and would want to keep it. Would I share it and show it off? Maybe. In the forum at least Am I a deserving candidate for this coin? Not likely as I'm not showing much interest or respect towards those who desire one. Do I want one? Yes. It's a cool coin. (sometimes I should edit my thoughts and forum logs this would be one of those time. I'm rolling my eyes at myself.)
  3. I'm curious about these coins. Are they intended for the owner of the cache they are placed into? Or are they intended for the person who discovers them in the cache?
  4. I see many cachers enjoy the Earthcaches, though they are retstricted to only geological Earth sciences. I and others are interested in a new cache type for ecological caches similar to Earthcaches. These would be non-physical caches that educate about nature and ecology such as the California Redwoods, Brazilian rainforests, London fog, etc. Is anything in the works towards this interest? Could there be? Thanks, ~SBC
  5. How do you get written approval from the landowner? How can no response be good enough when written approval is required? Thanks, I'm working on an idea for an earthcache also
  6. 1) May, 30, 2008 2) 6:51pm 3) 98 pounds exactly 4) born to cache
  7. There's no quesion...cache in drag. It's a no-brainer:)
  8. Sig Items are cool. Money! Souvenirs, but only if the cache is at a tourist attraction/vacation spot. I don't want to find a Hawaii keychain in a California cache, but if I went to Homer as a tourist, then Alaska souvenirs would be cool! I always toss the crap out of the caches I own. That's just good maintainance. If I don't like the swag someone left, I toss it or put it in another persons cache
  9. Thanks for all the great feedback. I'll check out that event planning link, also. What are good ice breaker games? (I don't expect many people will attend as this would be held in the far end of the county, and most cachers live on the other side.)
  10. Hi MizDeeds, Please contact me with your info so I can send you my pathtag when it's made. The blueprint was sent to production Thanks again.
  11. I'm thinking of planning an event for next year. Maybe a flashmob or general meet n greet. Where can I get info on how to organize and plan to make it fun and exciting? Do you have other event suggestions or helpful hints? Thanks ~Happy Caching
  12. I'm new to all this, but this coin looks really cool. How fun to find a coin in your cache that you can actually keep and share at events! I hope I find one.
  13. ....."All I want is to prevent this (placing caches on open to the public, but privately owned land, without permission) in the future. If people had to get permission for ALL caches, that would solve the problem of people incorrectly assuming it is public. But OK, you don't want that. Fine. But then how do we stop people who do absolutely zero research on the land and assume it is public if it isn't?".... With due respect, it's not your responsibility to police the caching community and enforce Groundspeaks rules for the game. It is your responibility (and all of ours) to follow the rules and play fairly and ethically. You'll never get rule-breakers to do what you want. But you can set a good example and place your caches within the guidelines and play by the rules. Plus you can continue to encourage this, as you're doing here. Others will be motivated to follow the rules and practice ethical geocaching (including getting permission).
  14. I canceled my caching plans for the weekend. I filled my tank yesterday and paid $80!!
  15. Totally cool Thank you so much! I love it. Also, thanks for the CacheSibs avatars. I'm gonna send them to my sis and let her decide what she wants to do with them...cool stuff
  16. I'd like the older GeoBash or GeoQuest Coin (I'm not sure what event it was for) with Smokey Bear on it. I have: easy cache geocacher magazine 2008/ unite for tank contact me through website email...thx
  17. Here's one same as your av in black nickel: Cool! I really like the red background. Two requests: Can you fix 'geocaching'? The 'c' was left out. Also, can you even out the hat brim above the eyes. The left side is higher than the right. Artistically, I like it. But I can't stop staring at it. I know...I'm an idiot!!
  18. I'd like to have the older Smokey Bear GeoBash Coin. I've seen it once and would love to add it to my Smokey Collection
  19. Would anyone like to help me with a pathtag design? I'd like to have "Smokey Bear Collector" and Smokey's face on it. What ideas can you all come up with? Go crazy and surprise me. I'll reward the chosen design with a pathtag
  20. If this were official, it would not be pre printed on a business card. It's the prank of a poor sport. I'd notify the owner and leave it at that.
  21. Hi MizDeeds, I'm here at GW6 with my sister and have learned I gave you the wrong team name. We are actually "CacheSibs" (one word). Could you make us an Avatar and Sig image for CacheSibs? We'd like the capital C to be a cent sign and the capital S to be a dollar sign. Is it possible to do two avatars; one with our individual names: Smokey Bear Collector and Fearless0 along with CacheSibs...and one with CacheSibs only?? Thanks in advance...I'm so excited about my new avatar! ~SBC
  22. MizDeedz, OMG, Wow! These look great! Thank you for all the trouble to make these. I love them and can't wait to get home and save them to my computer and use them
  23. I hid a needle in a haystack (micro in thick bushes)...when I went to maintain it, I couldn't find it. So I replaced it with a regular cache and posted a log saying whoever finds the original container can have it.
