  1. It has nothing to do with bring shipping fees down and everything to do with making more money for ebay. They can't stop the shipping price going up so they figure they should profit from it - pure and simple Yes, and no. It WILL make more money for eBay, and they are perfectly aware, and ok with that. But at the same time, there were many sellers who would charge $5 for a $20 item, and then charge the $20 for shipping. This, in turn, angered not only the buyers in many instances, but obviously eBay, who was basically getting scammed on final value percentages. If sellers would have remained honest and not screwed around with the system, the change to include shipping costs in the final value percentage that they take probably wouldn't have been made. You're giving ebay too much credit. Sure, the side benefit will be shipping costs may come down but truly, ebay has seen an opportunity to make more money no matter what happens to shipping costs. I've been selling for a long time with them and from a sellers perspective, ebay charges continue to get worse. I don't agree with the crazy shipping costs but I do understand the frustration of sellers getting gouged by ebay and paypal.

  3. I'm not too worried about it since they are samples and not actual tracking numbers
  4. Ya too bad...mine had the shortest distance to go but went missing at the first cache. I've tried and tried to contact the cacher but I'm guessing they didn't like geocaching much and gave it up.
  5. Congrats Chaos Crew!! Send me your address and I'll get your coin in the mail right away. I would like to put this pool behind me as quickly a possible.
  6. Edited to remove comments....I'll keep it to myself
  7. How sad that this act of kindness has undergone such scrutiny...mystery coiner, your efforts are appreciated! Not sure what your getting at drneal??? Did i say I never appreciated the mystery coiner....that's the farthest thing from the truth and I'm not sure how you get that from my statements? On the contrary, I think we were all very grateful.
  8. My point exactly...thanks Joni. I too was merely trying to point out that we can't complain about copyright issues if we only want to adhere to them when they suit us. I don't want anyone to lose money and if selling your coins helps you out financially that's great. But to me...if you're going to argue for strict adherence to the copyright issue then you would have at the very least mentioned the infringement when selling the coins...now maybe you did I don't know that. I guess I just don't understand how anyone can argue one side or the other unless they live it fully.
  9. You are right..I don't know what you sold them for but I do know it was more than what the originals sold for. As for your commitment I was only pointing out that it seemed strange (to me anyway) that you said it was against your principles and yet still sold them. I'm not dumping on you...just trying to understand the purpose of all this. I don't question your commitment or view...just that it seemed strange to me is all - to be so against it and yet still sell them afterwards. Which is why I questioned it...I don't know if it's legal use or not...but to be fair to the thread I think we need to understand how we view it under various circumstances.
  10. My comment was not personal..it's a point. I'm trying to understand the topic because we seem to change it depending on how it affects us. I'm merely shifting along with it.
  11. So you "SOLD" your coins that violated your principles - which I'm sure made a handsome profit as compared to the original selling price. I'm all for copyright protection but too often in these forums it seems more of a personal beef than true commitment or maybe only when it doesn't affect us. I'll leave the use of 'potential' copyright images/quotes to the individuals creating the coins...me, I'll just enjoy them as they come.
  12. Congrats Joni!! Nice coin and I sure hope the killjoys don't take anything away from the wonderful gesture of the mystery giver. There are a lot bigger fish to fry out there that people could spend their efforts on I'm sure. I don't want to sound like a killjoy. I also am amazed by the generosity of mystery coin givers. All the more reason why I don't want to see them get in trouble over this. Disney does have bigger fish to fry, but that doesn't mean they leave the little fish alone. They once sued a daycare because they had painted a picture of Mickey on an inside wall. When I say bigger fish..I meant the folks in the geocoin forum not Disney. Disney doesn't need our help. The coin is made so just enjoy. This isn't the first Mickey Diver coin to come out.

  14. I have some old samples of my Personal coin. The top row is actually an error that the mint made the first time around as they did not make the crown of thorns in 3D but rather just flat. The bottom is of the design we used but some of the metals were not made by the mint. The original minting was in Antique gold, silver, copper and a single shiny gold (wish I had that one now) So I've been needing to trim my collection a bit (and also make a few bucks) and was wondering if sample coins have any worth or are they something most folks don't care much for? If I'm going to bring my coin foot print down in size I would rather try with some of my samples first. I may take a chance and list them on ebay and so would these be considered rare or not?
  15. Sorry for not getting my list in folks. We've been having some serious issues to deal with and I've not been on the forum for a while. Again, I apologize if we messed up anyone's fun on this.
  16. You could always go the route of Yahoo Fantasy sports. I've played the Football version for years and just tried the Baseball version this past season. Super fun and you never get the same players as the others in the league. I've used it for Hockey in the past as well and there are a number of rules you can setup in it
  17. Next season, there needs to be a way we can make our own trades so that they are more 'secret' or we lose any edge we may have been hoping for. But you can click on each team and you'll see who's been traded in and who's been traded out so even if a trade wasn't announced here in the forums, you'd still be able to see the trades. sure..but only if folks are looking for it...and it may be a few days down the road and so you can pick up a couple of points for being diligent rather than giving others a heads up

  19. I haven't looked at all the teams but I'm guessing the difference between teams won't be much more than it is now for the entire season.
  20. So do you guys want to send me your coins now or wait until the end of the season to send them? I'm okay either way
  21. I didn't have one for 7 months but did have one after 3 months. These same people I recall were very upset at shipping costs, wanted me to sell them other coins for cheap and the delayed in paying for a few weeks after the transaction as well. So when I got the note they didn't arrive after 3 months I was very suspicious as everyone else got their coins. Reluctantly I did send new coins - but never again as to me even 3 months is too long a wait. If something hasn't shown up in 4 weeks I'm contacting the seller (or trader) right away. So personally..I think 7 months is too long and it was up to them to contact you sooner. Put a disclaimer on your site saying no refunds after ??? days.
  22. Do you know what metal/color combination there are? I'll let Labrador Wild Man contact you for any trade talk since they brought it up first. I'll wait and hope for others that might be wanting to trade. I do have one for trade It is a nICE coin
