  1. "Geocoin" is a generic term that relates to all geocaching-related coins, whether they're trackable on geocaching.com or not.
  2. When I've mailed out coins, I'm made sure the coin was wrapped in something, like cardboard or bubble wrap. I only use the padded manila envelopes and make sure I tape the end even though it's self-adhesive. I then use the self-service machine at the post office. The postage that prints out is a large sticker, about 3"x3" and I put that over the tape and self-adhesive flap. So there's three barriers the coin has to get through. No problems so far, with about 50 coins mailed out. Knock on wood. But I agree, a regular white envelope should never be used. They're just too fragile.
  3. This happens a few times every month. But it's been happening for a while now. It seems this same topic is brought up at least once a month in a new thread.
  4. Too bad I won't be there because I'd definitely be up for an event. I live in CA now but I monitor the caching activity on Maui. I'm not too sure the local cachers would show up, considering their sporadic caching activity on Maui. Although it wouldn't hurt to try.
  5. I'm half Japanese and my fiance is full Japanese. I've met several Asian cachers here in the SF Bay Area. BTW, Tiger Woods is Thai, not Filipino.

    Kvcoins

I went through Aaron Charles (coinsandpins.com) for my personal geocoins and I had a great experience with them. Here's the timeline: April 6, 2005 - send in first draft of design April 13, 2005 - three changes later and final design approved by me April 28, 2005 - receive coins from them I don't know if I was extremely lucky for it to take only three weeks from sending in the first design to receiving the coins but the process was smooth for me. You can email me with any other questions.
  7. I think you can still buy the Vacman coin here: Vacman Geocoin
  8. Check out this thread for geocoins still being sold: Geocoin Trading thread
  9. I think you should give it to Moun10Bike because without him, geocoins might never have existed.
  10. It looks good but I think grammatically, the "its" on the front should be "it's". Though I'm not 100% sure.
  11. Note that some of the people - like me - that had previously expressed interest in this coin are now part of the group that Nurse Dave mentioned. I'm also part of Nurse Dave's coin group. Please adjust your list accordingly. Thanks!
  12. I haven't had great luck with my TB's either. Out of the four I've sent out, only one is still around, and that one's a replacement with the copy tag. So I guess you could say I'm 0 for 4.
  13. If you're trying to solve Kestrel Trap with Firefox, try IE instead. It worked for me.
  14. I'd like 5 also. Thanks!
  15. Congrats to M&J on their 4000th! And a pre-congrats to Dave of Team Nazgul on his upcoming #1000th!
  16. I'd like 5 of the regular ones. Thanks. Email will also be sent.
  17. That's weird that Nurse Dave didn't get his yet. I live in San Jose and just got mine about an hour ago. One of the nicest coins out there.
  18. Congrats to WoW on #2000! Geez, I'm still trying to get to 500!
  19. Speaking of maps, I wonder if a link to Google Maps could be added to the "For online maps..." section. BTW, I use Marky's terraserver bookmarklet a great deal and it's a great way to see the layout of where you'll be caching, especially in high-resolution where you can zoom in a lot.
  20. I don't have a Missouri geocoin (looking for one too) but I was wondering if you'd be interested in trading a Texas geocoin for a Geocachers of Western Tennessee (GOWT) or a 2004 Conejo Cachers coin. You can reply to this message or to my email address through my profile page. Thanks!
  21. Hey Dave, I'm not sure if it's the new or old one but it's the 2004 coin. I saw your geocoin page and that's a mighty impressive collection!
  22. Does anyone have an extra Missouri geocoin they'd like to part with? I've got Oregon, California, Pennsylvania, Washington, GOWT, Conejo Cachers I can trade.
