I have a new version of a Windows program that will calculate the distance between two locations.
Now, in addition to being able to enter your coordinates as UTM, you can also enter the coordinates in Decimal Degrees (e.g. -123.4567) as found on geocaching.com.
You will also find a brief help file, and have the ability to enter default "From" coordinates so that if you want to calc a bunch of distances from the same location (your home, for example) you don't have to enter them over and over again.
Of course the program still assumes your distance between locations is as the crow flies -- it can only assume you are getting from one place to another in a straight line.
It's new, so it hasn't been tested for all locations, but the math should work regardless.
Send me an email if you want the small (24k) zip file -- unzips to about 83k.
