Interesting array of things everyone is carrying. I hope you dont mind if I start stealing elements from you kits! One thing.....I really like the idea of a telescopic magnet and I have thought about it before. My only worry has been the effect of a magnet in my bag with other things such as batteries, electronics and metal stuff.

So besides the basics like GPSr, pens, and a notebook....what do you carry into the field? Just curious as to what other peole carry in their kit.

After looking.....the hcx looks like a much better buy. IT seems to be priced the same or cheaper than the ch series. Thanx!

I heard about geocaching long time ago but recently I was doing some research about it and became very interested and excited to hear about all the geocaches in NYC. I am sure this has been asked many times and I apologize if I am bothering anyone. Even if you can jus tlink me to another forum or guide that would be great! For a budget of $200 - $250 what would you recommend for a first timer or what did you start out with? I have been looking at the Garmin series an dthe eTrex Legend CX in particular. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks
