  1. How about laminating the poster/sign and attach a tyvek paper log (like someone said above) to the back or a logsheet in a durable baggie? Kinkos or other office supply stores will laminate stuff for you, no need to buy a laminating machine.
  2. Looks like a cache that would get the landscaping tore up around it. Its also a cache I would pass on. In 50 some pages of caches this perhaps might be the most evil. While I understand some of the previous comments, I can find some things to like about it. Sure you would have to somehow wordsmith the page so that people will not root through the landscape but hey... it is RIGHT THERE in plain sight. I like it. It would drive me crazy. In the end, I would laugh. Thanks for the positive comment. The cache listing made it very clear that it was hidden in plain sight. Nothing had to be moved to find it. Also the ivy bed was elevated an ran along a wall so there was no way of the surrounding ivy to be trampled or damaged. I guess I don't see the skill in hiding a cache like that - a needle in a haystack so to speak. I prefer the camo jobs that people do on large ammo cans and the like. That's much more impressive to me. There's a guy in my area that hides stuff like the cache pictured and the find logs are generally something along the lines of "glad to cross this one off my to-do list". Rather a left handed compliment IMO. Well lucky for you, I archived it.

  4. ...make a great waterproof container but are not cheap. as said by previous posters, waterproof matchstick containers, pill bottles and film cannisters are cheap or free but be sure to put the log in a ziploc baggie.
  5. I think the bold part answers your question It's less about BEING buried/covered, and more about not wanting to dig up land in the first place. dug a ho?
  6. Any of the above will work or you can try this: In Google Maps, find your house on the satellite image view. Right click on it and select "Get Directions From Here" On the right of the map a 'driving directions' panel opens and your home coordinates should be displayed. P.S. That is not my house, just a random one in my hometown, so don't stop by looking for me
  7. Thanks for all of the (varying) opinions and thoughts. I think I will leave the difficult hides out of the C&D series but still include a puzzle or two. That way once the coords are noodled out, it will be an easy find with easy access.
  8. Sorry for starting a new thread. I tried searching for ther answer but suprisingly the word "cache" got a lot of hits from the search engine, go figure. By, definition, are Cache and Dash's expected to be easy to find (1-2 stars)? Or do they just refer to close parking/easy access to the cache site, instead of hiking to out of the way caches? I have created a Cache-N-Dache series along a busy road in my hometown. The first two are fairly easy to find. I have ideas for more challenging hides and a puzzle cache that I would like to include in the series. Would creating difficult caches (3+ stars) that still have easy terrain (1-2 stars) and easy access go against the expectations of cachers looking for a Cache and Dash?
