  1. Hello. I use to have a cool applet running on my cache at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...b9-ba50ab869ca2 It was a 360 panorama view from the cache site. It use to work but now it is not displaying the applet code. If I edit the cache description, the code is still there so it seems like geocaching.com is filtering java apps now on the cache pages. Anyway to fix this problem?
  2. I like how the virtual caches are now a little ghost because Virtual Caches are just plain scary.
  3. I also think this is a great idea and it would be nice to have the in red if the time is more than 30 days from when they picked it up.
  4. Better not post anymore El Diablo since you have reached the perfect number for your name. Look at that, I have reached 123 Posts.
  5. Do you spend more time reading and responding to messages on the forum than you do geocaching?
  6. Do I get bonus points for also having a Vespa? Both the Bus and Vespa are 1964 models (was not planned, just worked out that way). The Bus has a 2000cc engine and a later model bug transmission. I have removed the gear boxes and this baby really flies. I can easily do 75 on the freeways and have actually gone a 100mph once in it. I currently have 2 VWs 1964 Bus 2002 TDI Jetta I also had a 1999 New Beetle that I sold to get the Jetta.
  7. This is true. The link below is a Panorama from 6 images of a 6x7 Camera (4 times the resoultion of a 35mm camerea). We made a print that is 5 feet long and it is razor sharp. http://www.willieholdman.com/temp/greatgallery.jpg quote:Originally posted by geospotter:Don't feel bad about sticking to stitching. In my opinion it results in a better pano (with the right software).
  8. Hey GeoSpotter. I just bought the 0-360 lens www.0-360.com and it is coming tomorrow. I will let you know how it is. I was really impressed with 115 Vertical Field of view.
  9. How about wearing this one and opening up an Ammo Can when somebody comes walking by.
  10. I don't know about Megellan, but it is possible to make maps for Garmin. http://gpsinformation.net/gpsmapper/gpsmapper.htm
  11. If I had a bell I'd ring it in the morning I'd ring it in the evening All over this land I'd ring out danger I'd ring out a warning I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land
  12. If I had a hammer I'd hammer in the morning I'd hammer in the evening All over this land I'd hammer out danger I'd hammer out a warning I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land
  13. I think it should also go to GeoCaching.com - That way it goes to something we all like. If GeoCaching.com wants to give it to a charity or buy Chrome Vespa Parts, that's fine with me.
  14. This one was taken by a cache I hid. It was shot with a 5 megapixel camera and my brother shot some photos on 6x7 format camera. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=73376
  15. How about pictures of ammo boxes. Each month could have a different kind.
  16. If the topic had to do with the response, then I think it would be fine. I bet if it was somebody else that responded and told them about the program nobody would think anything of it.
  17. I look like some guy named Jason. Let me explain. Back in high school I would sometimes have people come up to me and say ?Hey Jason!? This would be at the Mall, Dances, and around town. When they would get close at start talking they would realize I was not Jason and told me I looked just like him. It turns out that Jason went to another high school a few miles away. I never meet him at the time but that would change several years later. During this time I had a girlfriend for several years. When I was 19 years old I went on a mission for my church for 2 years (being from Utah you can guess what religion). During these two years I would be in California. My girlfriend and I would exchange letters back and forth while I was on the mission. One day a letter came from her and she told me she was in the mall and could not believe her eyes because she saw me! She got closer and then realized it was not me but somebody that looked a lot like me. Guess who it was? Yep, some dude named Jason. Anyway she tells me she started talking to him and now they are friends. About two months latter she writes me again and tells me we are not meant for each other and etc, etc, etc. I know something must be going on and I wrote a letter back asking her what was up. Finally she wrote me again 1 month later and told me she is now in love with this Jason guy (My Evil Twin). This was about 1 year into my mission and I figured oh well and continued on with mission. When I get home 1 year later she comes a visits me and I have a friendly chat with her. At this point I have moved on and she tells me she is engaged to this Jason guy (which I have never met to this point). I tell her that?s great and wish her all the best. We pretty much went our separate ways but we will still kind of friends and would talk every few months when we ran into each other. She was never sure about marriage so there engagement went on for another 3 years. At about this I meet somebody a lot better (which I am married to now). During our reception I finally meet Jason. There I was standing in the line shaking hands with everybody and he comes through and says ?Hello, I am Jason, Amber (my ex-girlfriend, name changed) is sick and she wanted me to come by and give you guys a present. I told him thanks and he went on his way. He did look a little like me but the way that everybody talked, I thought it was going to be like looking in a mirror. We still have their present which was a casserole dish in our kitchen. BTW ? Jason and Amber never ended up getting married (she dumped him) and she is now married to somebody else. I am grateful for Jason now because who knows what would have happen and I may have never met my wonderful wife I have now.
  18. I lost my own travel bug once. I went to a cache that was a 16 mile hike (32 round trip) and half way there I took it out to show the others I was with. At about the same time it started raining really hard and I put the bug back into my backpack and took out my rain jacket. I am pretty sure it fell out there because the next morning (just before we were going to summit the highest peak in Utah) I could not find it. The next day when we hiked back I looked in the area I thought I dropped it and it was not there. The hike is a popular one and I am pretty sure somebody must have picked it up. I still hope that somebody will read the tag and go to the website so I can know where it is.
  19. I have been really impressed with the Utah Admin. All the caches that I have ever submitted have been verified within 24 hours.
  20. Which lens do you have? quote:Originally posted by geospotter:I also have a 360 lens.
  21. The Rock pile is real. I did not use a tripod and eyeballed the shot so everything did not match up perfectly. That is why there is a break in the rockpile. When you use a Tripod, you can get more accurate. This is why it would be nice to have a one shot 360 lens. quote:HEY, is that a fake rock pile I saw when I looked at the ground in that pic?I know a good 360 when I see it... TEAM 360.
  22. I use a Nikon 5000 with a fisheye lens. I take 3 pictures at 120 degrees and then use PTGUI to stitch together the images. PTGUI is a front end to the free Panorama Tools program. If you use a fisheye lens to make a 360 panorama, you will also need to download the modified pano12.dll at http://www.ueckermann.de/pano12/ This is because IPIX has a patent on creating 360 panoramas (really lame) with a fisheye lens and normally the software does not allow you to go more than 180 degrees. You can read more about the patent at http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,20824-2,00.html There are single shot 360 panorama lenses such as the one at http://www.0-360.com This will allow you to just take one shot and not have to mess with the stitching (which can be a real pain sometimes). The only thing with a one shot lens though is that it will not capture "everything" such as sky and the ground. You need to use a fish eye for that. I created a full 360 panorama of the inside of my old house at http://www.holdman.com/house/pan.html
