  1. Does anyone know an easy way to transfer waypoints from a Garmin 60CSX using a MAC running OS X 10.6?
  2. Hmm... that should only be a valid fix if the Garmin is specifically stumbling over the Spotlight folders and doesn't mind any/all of the other "dot" files. AND... isn't this fixed in the most current Garmin firmware? Anyone who is still seeing this problem what firmware are you using on your device? Easiest way to deal with this is to get BlueHarvest. It is a system prefs that you run just before you eject the 60CSx. Works like a charm. Cleans all the leftover junk.
  3. This sounds exactly like what is happening. I do recall that OS X does write extra files to the SD card. I believe there was a recent offering of an app on either MacZot or MacUpdates that supposedly removed those files. Never thought I would need it. Thanks for the link and I will try this the next time I connect my Garmin 60 CSx to the MAC.
  4. Bingo! Seems to have worked. Will leave it off for the night and see if it continues to work tomorrow. As my old buddy used to say to me...."Saved your bacon again!" Thanks and hopefully this will be the answer. I will post again tomorrow. 7/22/10 So far so good. Started up again this AM and cycled through all pages. Will take on a bike ride to see it is still tracking correctly.
  5. Thanks, But no luck. Just boots to the satellite page and freezes there. Tried several times.... Then I just started it again and it worked. All pages available. Shut it down and started again and NOTHING. Tried the master reset again and nothing.
  6. I was downloading my tracks and waypoints to Basecamp on a Mac running OS X 10..6. The GPS was recognized and I initiated the transfer from the unit. I did get a message that the transfer was complete but nothing actually came over as best I could determine. I tried again and had no luck. I went to eject the GPS 60CSx and I noticed a humming noise coming from the unit. I tried to shut it off but could not. I removed the battery and it stopped humming. I installed the battery and started the unit up and it came to the satellite page and starts to acquire the satellites. It basically freezes and I cannot go to another page nor can I shut it down by the usual method. Removing the battery is the only way to shut down. I fear that I have damaged the unit and do not know if there is anything I can do, other than getting it repaired or recycling it. I did run the Garmin Web Updater and it recognized the unit and I reinstalled the latest software but that did not help. Any suggestions before I do either of these options?
  7. Go to the Garmin web site. http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/ Not sure what program you are running on the MAC, but this will get the data downloaded to the MAC.
