  1. TwentySeven.... At least you found the "Rootbeer" when I was the cache owner!!! (one more thing) I was so nice that I only changed the cache pages to reflect that.... he created the pages and I adopted them.... such as "by SmokeyBear (adopted by:Kitch)" heck...I should have at least changed the "pages" to make them look nice maybe some cool colors, background, photos, etc..
  2. About 3 months ago... I contacted Mtn-Man and expressed my concern for 2 locationless caches that are poorly maintained..... How can it be poorly maintained--You may ask?? Simple the cache owner hasn't been around (online geocaching.com) for a year. People post items (cows and horses) that are breaking his own cache page rules. Didn't Respond to my emails for "adoption" of the locationless caches. So? I adopted the caches with help from Mtn-man. Cleaned up a bunch of the "poor" duplicate posts on items and even the wrong items. This is a very time consuming issue as both caches have many many finds. Smoke Report Frozen in Time Somehow I'm not sure how....he has "regained owner ship" on these two caches and that is fine with me as long as he is an ACTIVE owner. But I'm a little concerned because I also got and email (i wish i didn't erase) from "him" that was almost a threat that if I didn't release his caches back to him Minnesota is not that far away to to "hijack" my caches. I'm also concerned because I find it hard to believe that he is still and ACTIVE cache owner!!! mtn-man...I know you will be a "little" upset on my voice on this here but It upsets me.......(I spent a lot of time working on this)

  6. LOOks like I got exposed at every "get sauced" event in minnesota and just about every friday nite when I was in college... but it always comes in this order... Excessive urnitation, Excessive Sweating, Vomiting, Nausea, More Vomiting, More Sweating, Bloated Feeling, and body electrolyte imbalance thruout.... But they left out the symptom my hair smells like smoke the morning after.

  17. I'm sure that most councils would be happy to work with you and give you an answer.....BUT.... I'm almost positive that my old council would say no....since... they always had the policy of leave nothing but footprints...take nothing but memories... also....I'm sure they are worried about people wondering into other areas of the camp such as the RANGES heck they have 8 of them rifle and bow.
  18. Almost weekly we have a large group of 5-10 people that go out and do Night caching.... We each have an "understanding" that you find it don't say anything and keep looking for a while to "fake out" others.... The best part is asking others if they found it yet. Then to find out your the last one to find it because everybody else is watching you. It really puts the pressure on to not be the LTF when we sometimes put bets on the first round at the bar if your LTF. After week very few times have I have been spoiler by others finding it first.
  19. my dogs name is Cedo...now I just figured out i'm not the only idiot with a dumb dog name... as for CITO...for some reason I always think of CITGO ?? I'm not sure why I just do
  20. Its something that is really cool idea.... To be honest I often think about taking classes since I have two little girls 4 and 1.5 yrs old. I never got around to it. I have had CPR classes in high school but has been over 15yrs since then. If something came up I'm going to try to do the best I could but wouldn't feel comfortable about my skill level. I know I'm not going to get my butt in gear to find classes in my area but if it was a FTF i'd be all over that.......
  21. $5 in beer for "silent bob and marsha" since I bet him the Cache that I looked for was stolen. Turns out I was wrong. $5 in beer for writing in a log book saying that if he read the logbook I'd buy him a beer. $5 in beer for him writing in a log book saying that my cache was dumb and I owe him a beer for making him do a dumb cache. $25 X 20 nites (at least) for my bar tabs after night caching trips with "Silent Bob" and others... $50 in flowers for my wife...since I got caught out caching without her knowing. (She thought I was at work).
  22. I don't think I would have figured this out on my own....Thanks CarmudgeGal I hope she doesn't yet at me for giving out her tricks!!!! So, I just load up the gpx file into GSAK like normal, then click on the thunderbolt to upload waypoints to my machine... it pops up with the 'send waypoints to GPS window: In the left column, I make sure that the 'Geocache' symbol shows up for "Not Found" In the right column I change the Waypoint name to be a smart name so it just kinda smashes the name together. The 60 can hold a 10 character waypoint name but I actually have it truncate the name to 8 characters. In the first box it says: %smart=8 Max characters: 10 I leave the 'problem characters' box blank and then in the Waypoint description format box it says this: %drop2 (%Dif/%Ter) (%typ1/%con1) %drop2 gives you the waypoint designation as gc.com does, without the initial "GC" on the front - so if your waypoint was GC1234, it would just read '1234'. (%Dif/%Ter) gives you the difficulty/terrain of the cache you're looking for (%typ1/%con1) gives you the type of cache and the type of container it's hidden in. There are a billion different ways you can reorganize what appears in your notes, and there is a nifty little file in GSAK help called 'Special Tags' or something like that, but instead of making you go find it, I'm including it here.
  23. wow 30-40 plus finds that are buried...thats impressive...
