  1. Yes. ...actually I had proposed a few additional ones much earlier. They were "Marinas"- "Yacht Clubs" - "Skateboard Rinks" - Ornamental Driveway & Security Gates - Racetracks - Monarchs of the World - Graffiti - Town Clocks - Rail Road Stations (converted) etc. ... some of those have already been taken' First there were 3 Cats and I gave up a couple, then they allowed us 5 and I relinquished another one to get the one I have on the board now, but not on line yet. So many, so lttle time
  2. Anyone interested in this "Category"??? Hint -Hint - Jeremy
  3. Absent "Category Owner " and "Officers" not signed in for months, but all showing up as active!!! Why are these statistics different from their "actual" e mail sign-ins? Can a flag or tag be attached to their account showing unapproved "Waymarks" are waiting for them?
  4. Thanx Nate, ..Now I can set up the "Skateboard Parks" OK..Let's hear some suggestions for setting up the "Category" unless someone else wants it.
  5. It's been getting slower since the summer. Not that many posts, on the Forum, tell the story too. (Talked out I guess) I didn't believe in "Categories" having "Officers" before, but can now see the merit as a few "Cat. Owners" or in some cases "Officers"don't seem to be on line that often and some "Waymarks" sit there for days on end if not weeks. The interest in Waymarking must be waning.
  6. I resemble that remark If it's not your cup of tea stick to coffee. If you want to print a phone book join the phone company.
  7. I like my Earthcache. People are still hitting it. I'd hate to think of what would have happened to it if were over at the WM.com site (Won'tMatter.com). I was thinking about doing another Earthcache, but if it's a WM feature, who cares anymore? Check out these 3 'Earthcaches' and the work that went into them. Thomas A. Jagger Museum. The 'Kilauea Visitor Center' Thurston Lava Tube These are 3 of my favourite "Earthcaches" by 'Yosemite John and Debbie' and the numbers since September 19th of last year. - Only on "Geocaching" Hawai'i Volcanoes Earthcache 127 logs -178 photos Hawai'i Volcanoes - - - - #2 -128 logs - 194 pictures ...and Visitor Center ..127 logs and 121 photos There are 158 listed on "Waymarking" since June 15th 2006, many more than have been visited, of which some are duplicates.. So how many and how will they be moved to www.earthcaches.org? Are duplicates, on"Waymarking", such as "The Blue Quasar's" St. John's Conservation Area EarthCache going to be removed?
  8. Latest update...."Silverquill" dug back into his bin and found it (Sauble Raceway) and re-approved it again, so both problems are now corrected. Now where did you say that "Close Topic", button went to?
  9. Anyone else with this problem? Here is another one for which I received the "Approved" e-mail but is not on the list ...and there is no reference as to the "Approver" either....now there is! To my lost "Library Waymark" page One down, but still one more to go
  10. Why not dilute it a little further "Blue Quasar" and let's start a "Canadian National Parks" Category and after that maybe one for "Ontario" and then every other "Province". (Oh - yes and "Territories")
  11. I understand your logic, except there is one problem here. The U.S. - Park was created on 7/12/ 2006 and the -National Park was created on 8/10/2006 What do you tell the first "Category Owner and Officers"? ---Take your job and shove it?
  12. Did you at the time of your submission check if all your officers had signed in lately? I found some of the "Category Owners' where I am an Officer" , hadn't signed in for days as they hadn't approved any of the Waymarks. If this was the case they might not have seen your call for "Officer" vote. Nobody checks the box as "Absent" for some reason, even when away for a week.
  13. Some are revisitable So where do I 'deposit' my "Octoberfest" link? this one for only 37 years -->and the link ????? From a modest beginning in 1969, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest has grown to become the biggest Bavarian Festival in North America, second in the world only to the original Oktoberfest in Munich. And, it has become one of the best parties on the continent.
  14. I see you are still here Nate ... Any answer to this ?
  15. I like to see a listing called "Seasonal Events" which could be all inclusive, be they annual - Fall Fairs, Beer Festivals, Balloon Festivals, Renaissance Fairs, Christmas Parades, Tennis Tournaments or any other yearly short term events. When searching this "Category" for an area of interest, the listing would show that it is active for a limited time only. Example:..... Name of the event or activity Time:...from (date) to (date) Location: City/Town/Village (Describe the event) Admission Conditions etc. etc.
  16. Anyone home in Seattle ? Or did "Burt the zombie"...world travelling brain eater get you too ?? Below is a copy of the message received Sept.2nd Your waymark has been approved Waymarking.com More options Sep 2 (3 days ago) This is an automated message from Waymarking.com Congratulations! Your new waymark, 'A1 - RT - "SAUBLE SPEEDWAY' Sauble Beach, Ontario CA. ' has been approved and can be found here: http://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/details...70-d3ddbfaeaa4f The approver has written the following message to you: ---"Deleted"--- Thanks for the submission." If you wish to view or edit your waymark listing you can click on the above URL or use the waypoint name WMN0K. Happy Waymarking! The Groundspeak Team So now what ?
  17. As I stated before... I am vehemently against logging your own 'Waymarks' By creating your "Waymark" we know you were there. All you are doing is adding to your "Visit" count. If, on the other hand, in the future you "do visit your "Waymark" and have something to add to the log---go right ahead--- as you have then "earned your visit" I keep hearing it's not the numbers, so why the log????? and most of the lame duck log remarks of "VISITED" surely aren't necessary to enhance the waymarks.
  18. Received the notice of a "Waymark" being approved last night but upon clicking on it's link this morning, it says "This waymark has not been approved yet" ...It is not listed to be re-submitted or rejected, just no listing. ...and yes -- "Make racetrack visible in directory" -- is checked. What went wrong??? New "Racetrack" Category submission
  19. Your right !!! it is a duplicate category submission. If they were to change it to pioneer or historic it would pass muster but not as abandoned, regardless of it being historic or not. My 99 Cents analysis.
  20. For some unknown reason I happened to peruse the "Geocaching" forum to-night and read the sad news about Tonys passing last Saturday. I only met him briefly on my first "'Pub night" in Whitchurch in 2005 My heartfelt condolences goes out to his wife Sue and family at this time. His name and spirit shall go on and live for ever.
