  1. I have never had to use an accuracy of 10* to 20* even when pacing off a given direction. ...On my "Vista"I have to re-calibrate the compass every time I change my batteries.
  2. Hello Lisa, welcome to "Waymarking" your dreams can be probably be granted with their "Categories" There are many places you can add as "Waymarks" or "Virtuals" as you may want to call them or even create your own "Category" and have others submit their "Waymarks" to it. Just search under --->Waymarking Directory and voila you have anything from "benchmarks to statues, abondoned train tunnels to town clocks or maybe some information of the train stations itself. Bon Voyage and "Happy Waymarking"
  3. Whaaaaaaaat? Nobody else is going to thank T.P.T.B and add their name to the list? Hey - "W.M." gang your the best............
  4. After submitting one of my "Waymarks" I received the following response. As a "Category" owner" I post: Additional logging requirements might be required by the "Waymark" owner! as I feel the "Waymark" visits belong to the "Waymarker" not the "Category" owner!. I, as a "Waymarker" receive notices if my "Waymarks" has been visited but not as a "Category" owner, therefore I feel that the "Waymarker" should have the right to add additional or no requirements. Below are my standard "Waymark" requirements posted on every Waymark I submit. ..How does everyone else feel about 'Category" owners stipulating "Logging requirements"? Added later from another "Category": This does not make sense. If you visit the "Waymark" not physically, but would like to post a comment about it, you are not allowed to do so? With my counters I can see there are many hits on some "Waymarks" but few comments, so I know some will only peruse the pages only while others will post in the log about a "Virtual" visit.
  5. Waymarking Image Gallery had 110 photos submitted to-day, so far, and 474 for the 23rd of October ....now what do the naysayers have to say about not wanting photographs with the "Waymarks" Kudos and best wishes from all of us to - Jeremy - bootron - OpinioNate - and our "IconDesigner" Koko for all the hard work and patience to bring it this far. please add anyone else that I forgot.
  6. You still working "bootron" ? Go take a day off
  7. I, for one, do include that line as I would like my "Officers" to have the opportunity to check my submission and critique the page. I have had some of them rejected and was asked to make corrections to meet my own guidelines. I also include that I will not "Approve" any "Waymarks" submitted to my "Leaders" Category unless asked to do so, or in his/her absence. If you are an "Officer" in say 10 to 15 Categories do you always remember all the requirements of each one of them? Sometimes a "Leader" has to override a waymark 'Approval' as not meeting the guidelines which you really don't want to do as that interferes with the process.
  8. Been wondering if this one could fly as there are already "Z-Signs " - "Unusual Speed Limits" and others. My idea would be to photograph signs that make you smile or even scratch your head and wonder 'what could they have been thinking about'.. Misspelling - confusing or just funny signs. Even those that you don't see every day such as a particular road sign that you might not come across anywhere else. Not ones at the office or store like these --> We exchange anything--bicycles, washing machines, etc. Why not bring your wife along and get a wonderful bargain. Anyone leaving their garments here for more than 30 days will be disposed of. They should be permament signs
  9. Sorry.. I didn't know that you call launch sites "put ins" when launching kayaks etc.. I am a sailor and we launch our boats, so I wasn't familiar with that term at all
  10. I like that category too, as my daughter shoots rapids. .....but what in the 'ell do you mean by - Quote ->maybe put ins our named rapids???
  11. "Cigar Store Indians" are are up for "Peer Review" Are they not already loggable in Outside wooden carvings? ---or is this "Category" just for the inside ones?
  12. WOW ! <li> - Bullets have been added! THANX ! One question -- are "Gallery Photographs" from Waymarks the only ones displayed on the --> * View Gallery (latest 5000) pages ? ...and only the ones submitted since 17/9/2006 ?
  13. Now if you lived on Staten Island and were looking for a lighthouse 210 miles away you wouldn't find one in the listing. I was looking at other "Waymark" listings and found only one when there should have been 11 or more. Finally spotted a box that said 1week - and up to 3 years back for listings, but sometime later there was only a box with 10-50-100-200 kms radius. Not very helpful if you want to scan other waymarks.....and what happened to the "time box'?
  14. Thanx Bruce ! You illustrated it 'Moh bettah' the last link (My Categories) does work but a long way around from my e-mail!
  15. Please look over the waymark details below to determine if it meets your category's criteria. If you decide to decline the waymark, you must provide a reason for doing so in the following text field: The following waymarks have been posted within 1 mile of this waymark. Please make sure the waymark you are reviewing is not already on this list: [Accept Waymark] ----------- [Decline Waymark] Total Records: 0 - Page: 1 of 0 Prev. << <[]> >> Next Total Records: 0 - Page: 1 of 0 Prev. << <[]> >> Next Received 3 "Waymarks" for approval overnight. Only the above, an empty box in between and a side panel and a bit more is visible but with no links working to view the Waymarks. If I click on the red next arrow buttons ( red added for identification by me) the page returns to "Home Page"
  16. I don't know if this was mentioned yet: When clicking on the link of 'Waymark Visited' from a 'Waymark' logger you get this -------> 404 Error The action you took has generated a 404 page not found error. Visit the 'B - "KEVIN SITES " - in the 'Hot Zone' ' waymark at the following address:

  19. I am glad for you, that there were no complaints about the new release. I for one am not at all happy with the many changes and software verbiage.such as description of "Category" requirements - My Category - Before they were all in a neat order but now you have to wade through tons of print "My Page" is spread over 4 screens - with 2 screens completely empty.... "Waymarks Owned" & "Waymarks Visited" empty ...I could go on for hours...
