  1. I am having the same problem. the maps show on the cache pages but when you select "FILE/PRINT PREVIEW" you will notice that you only get a blank box with the "+" & "-" and the "i" at the top. How do we get the maps to print so we can know where the cache is located. When you print then the location maps show as blank boxes.
  2. I see that you are already aware of the issue of maps not showing up on the cache pages. I'm adding this message just so others that view this thread can see that you are working on it. Yikes! I just noticed that the thread I mentioned above is very old. I'm missing maps on all cache pages that I've tried today. I've tried on two different XP computers, one with IE6 and one with IE7.
  3. Ming, How did the caching go in Lincolnshire last week. I had to go to the Cleveland, OH area for a couple of days on business and I was able to grab 5 while I was there. Doxie Man
  4. Hi Ming, I work in Lincolnshire and live 8 miles west in Lake Zurich. I have found most of the accessable caches in the area. We have a lot of snow on the ground now so i would avoid the forest hides along the river or in deep woods at night. Here are some good ones in the area that you may want to check out. Most are in the 60069 Lincolnshire & surrounding areas. 5. First I want to say GREAT JOB on the maps they are perfect now. Send to GPS is still not working. When I attempt to download geocaches to my Garmin Vista C it sends them to the wayopints listing and the symbol is a blue dot instead of the cache symbol. Also the name of all the caches is "GEOCACHE" and this makes it hard to know which cache that I have loaded at the time without carrying a listing of all the cache numbers that I am lookling for. This started with the new Googls Map Updates. I have read all the posts and have checked the Garmin website many times for an update but there is not one available for my GPS. Let me know when I can once again see the geocache name that I am looking for. I can manually load each cache from the waypoints list and change the symbol and it works but that is a lot of work each day when I am loading 10+ caches to find. When do you think a fix be available?
  6. How so? Are you clicking on the icon and not seeing the text "Send to GPS"? -Raine I am still having the same problem. Instead of sending to the Geocache listing it is sent to the Waypoints list with a blue dot instead of the closed cache chest. You have to manually open each one in the Waypoints listing and change the icon before it appears on the cache listing. Also the title is still GEOCACHE. I tried it yesterday to see if it was working since the map is working with the numbered cache locations but no luck so I am patiently waiting.
  7. I always found the preview in google maps to be the only useful feature of PQs. Any news about it? Will it be revived in the near future? We've almost completed work on adding PQs back to the Geocaching Google Maps. You should see an update early next week if all goes well! That is great news. Since the map change I am having a problem with the PQ. It only shows the caches that I have found. I have tried to change the setup to not show found caches but it still shows ONLY the caches that I have found. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get only unfound caches to show?
  8. You are wrong about that. I have been using my Garmin Vista since I got it in July of this year and it worked perfectly until the Google Maps update was posted on this website so don't blame Garmin because you wrote the code to a different JS.
  9. I have contacted Garmin and they have nnot changet anything lately. The problem started with the new code upload. I have been using my Garmin Vista C since the middle of July and there was not a problem until the upgrade by Groundspeak. Garmin didn't change anything on my GPS that would cause the problems that I am having. 1. Coordinants sent to waypoints listing only. 2. Cache Icon appears as a blue dot not the closed cache chest. 3. Name of geocache listed as "geocache" This all started when the NEW Google Maps were installed. It has also made it a real pain to know which cache to look for next because the map doesn't allow any way to identify the location of the different caches on a large area map that I used to use to plan my caching route.
  10. Are you refering to the fact that caches get downloaded as waypoints rather than Geo Caches? That has been my problem and now I only get coordinates and a generic geocache without a title name. Any one else? Yes I have had the same problem for over 2 weeks. I have to manually go into waypoints, load each new cache that I SENT to GPS (Garmin) amd change the icon to the closed cache chest before it will show up on my geocache listing. The name still stays "geocache" and it is a real pain trying to identify which geocache I have loaded. I often have to go back to the listing and reload the cachl to compart it with my printed out cache information and compare the cache number to the GPS to find it.
  11. I am still having the BLUE DOT problem. I downloadec 4 caches to my Garmin Vista C last night (10/16/07)and the problem still exists. I had to manually change each one to the closed cache icon for them to appear in the Geocache listing. Please keep working on it also map still freezes after several zooms or pans. Doxie Man
  12. Jeremy, I just found another bug in the code this weekend. When I attempt to print a large area map of 10 miles or less to show all the caches that I want to find for the day only the left half of the displayed map is printed. This just started with the new maps so I know that it is not printer related. I have been doing this for several months since I first started geocaching and it always` workef until the new maps were released. Doxie Man rogerrowe@sbcglobal.net
  13. Yes, this change is part of the "site improvements". A member of a German forum sent an enquiry to Garmin about it (in case it was plugin related) who confirmed it was an a web page issue. The same thing has happened to me here in Lincolnshire, Illinois except instead of a BLUE FLAG I only get a large DOT that is not doing anything for me. The old CHEST symbol at least let me know if the cache had been found or not by the lid being closed if not found and open it found. The other related problem is that the cache information is not being sent to the GEOCACHE listing only the WAYPOINTS listing. I used the NAME OF THE CACHE all the time to know which printed out pages to take with me on my hunts in case I needed to check the hints. Please tell me that this is going to be fixed soon. With the loss of the CACHE BOX and the NUMBERED CACHE LOCATIONS & right side NUMBERED CACHE INDEX it has made geocaching a lot more difficult and a lot less fun. If the cache information is not sent to the GEOCACHE listing then that defeats the purpose of having it on the GPS.
  14. I am with most of the previous replys in the problems that I am having with the new maps. I discovered a new problem today when I attempted to SEND the cache location files to my Garmin GPS. It doesn't work, the file doesn't go to the Geocache list it goes to the waypoints list instead. The other problem is the GEOCACHE symbol is notthere it is replaced by a BULLETT symbol. The Geocache screen will not work with this new symbol. It used to show the closed chest until you clicked on FOUND then the chest would be shown open. I was able to locate a couple of caches using the waypoints but I had to mark that I had found then on the pages that I had printed out with the cache information. PLEASE FIX THIS OR GIVE US BACK OUR OLD MAPS AND CACHE INFORMATION PAGES !!!!!!!! Doxie Man Premium Member
