  1. Went to geocaching.com map page tonight and just about died. New unfriendly icons! These icons have the same major flaw of most mobile device applications, they totally leave us color blind people in the dark. The unique shapes of the old icons made it very easy to tell the cache type regardless of color. Most colors selected before were unique enough to enhance the shape, at least for some levels of color blindness. Now, they all blend together. Not only are they all dots, but the color selections are no longer unique enough so multiple icons appear the same at a quick glance. Very frustrating to take a huge leap backwards in useability!! When looking for a new phone I actually avoided Android based phones because none of the geocaching apps were color blind friendly compared to GeoBucket. In fact, they all look like the new online icons, horrible for some of us. Is there any way to get the old icons back for us that like/need them?

  3. I can't get to the EC List on Earthcache.org any more. I've tried 3 computers with various combinations of 3 browsers and they all fail. Chrome says there are too many redirections, FireFox says it may have something to do with cookies. I've tried various settings without success. I've asked someone else to try and he has the same issue. What's the new secret way to view the list?

  4. Hey thanks! That makes much more sense. Now I'll have to go back to Garmin and have them explain why the Colorado 400t hangs on those geocache pages. If I removed all the html tag stuff it works, so that was my first guess as to the problem. Thanks again.

  5. It's hard to say. The issue is not likely with the .gpx file, it's with the software you're using to open it.

I'm using a standard flat text editor. It's not altering the tags or miss reading them in any way. It's simply displaying what is in the file as I received it.

  6. I've opened several geocaches and then hit the "GPX File" button to create a GPX file of that one cache and many of them have not generated correctly with regard to the <> characters. Instead of < or > the GPX files has < or >. Thus <br> is translated as <br>. Not sure if this happens on any others but here are just two I tried, GCX2RZ and GCYV5X. Is this normal?

  7. I'm trying to enter a log to a trackable item PC3DQC. It allowed me to "retrieve it" and make a log but would not allow me to "place it" in the new location. Instead it only allowed me to "write note" or "discovered it". So I deleted my log figuring I some how messed up and would do it over to fix it. Now I can't even retrieve it, I'm stuck with "write note" and "discovered it" as the only selectable options. Any way to get this fixed so I can make the logs?
