I can only get to the "Software Upgrade Mode Active" display. Has anyone been successful connecting to an explorist 500/600 using the above mentioned cable? This cable seems simple to construct but I don't want to waste time making the cable if no one has been successful.

So, I have a 500LE and uploaded the 2.57 upgrade. The result is a brick! Is my only recourse sending the unit to Magellan? Or has any one been successful with making a serial cable a la http://rhamphorinkx.newmail.ru/. The last time I sent a GPS back to Magellan it took 14 weeks until I saw it again.
