  1. Wish I had seen this yesterday at 6 PM spent about 6 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong !! :-(
  2. Greetings Zonnetje! Long time no hear! Unfortunately, the Live geocaching does not work at this time. Maybe they are fixing some issues and it will be better when it does work again?
  3. Got my new City Nav N American card today and it worked with no problems at all in the GPS map 64 !!
  4. I specifically asked Garmin support last week if the new GPSmap64s had been changed as to how it authenticates its maps and the answer was yes! I have a copy of City Navigator N America 2014.40 that works great in a Oregon 450 and a Oregon 650 and in a Montana 650 but will not authenticate in the GPSmap64s.Paid $30.00 from an Amazon supplier did not realize it was a copy until it showed up ! Have a friend that had the same results in the New Monteria. Waiting on a litigate map card {$75.00) from GPS City to see how that works out ?? It does appear Garmin has stuffed the hole in its map piracy at least with the use of the City Navigator N. American card copies?
  5. Thanks for the reply yogazoo,I bought it from an Amazon seller and it is a copy. I contacted Garmin and they made a case # and they want my sales receipt, date it was purchased and they say it has an unlock # on it somewhere and they will be glad to help me !! Of course the seller says he does not have that info and that I don't need it, that the unit is defective. Was wondering if anybody else that has a 64s is having the same issue before I order a new card from Garmin.
  6. Garmin has changed the way maps are authenticated on the 64. The days of downloading and using "unlocked" City Navigator .img files are gone on the 64 and will soon be gone on the rest of the bunch as well. If you have legitimately licensed and paid-for maps or open source (free) maps that won't authenticate then I would contact Garmin and let them know which map(s) your having an issue with. If you have an illegitimate City Navigator .img file then I'm pretty sure at the very least your complaint will fall on deaf ears.
  7. Got mine last week from GPS City. I've got an issue with the maps on the micro sd card they will not load !! The error message says "Can't authenticate maps. Contact Content seller for help" Anybody else having this issue? Took the latest firmware and still getting the error message. The maps are the Garmin North American road maps and they work in a Oregon 450 and a Oregon 650 and in a Montana.
  8. "Yellow River" is one of only 16 caches in the world that was placed in November of 2000,that has not been archived. It belongs to you and yours to do with what you want, just hate to see these old ones go-away.
  9. I have noticed it more and more in my area most of them are new cachers but some of the older cachers have gone back in and have logged their own caches.I made a mistake one time and e mailed a newby and tried to explain that it was not standard practice he unloaded on me with why don't you mind your own business you jerk!!So I quit being the local geo\police and now just mind my own business!! I sure don't understand it!!
  10. I received an E-mail from a non-member wanting me to buy him a membership since all my caches are MOC's and he could not afford the $30.00 ??? He thought it was unfair of me to do that! I ignored him
  11. Sorry, GPS receivers from the following manufacturers can't be used in ExpertGPS. Cobra Cobra will not release information on their data interface. Delorme After extensive testing with a Delorme PN-20, we've decided not to implement support for this GPS at this time. It uses a real-time USB interface that would require significant changes to our software. If they release further products based on this interface, or if their market share increases significantly, we'll revisit this decision. The good news is that Delorme's software finally supports GPX, so you can exchange GPX files between their software and any TopoGrafix product. Humminbird I pulled this from the Expert GPS site
  12. I'm a newbe so I can't really make a determnation between any of the units. This is my 1st hand held unit. I can say that I received my PN-40 Thursday, read the book, twice, down loaded some of the aerial photos and loaded the maps.Friday I managed to get 4 caches down loaded into it.Saturday I set it to navigate to the 1st waypoint (cache) drove to the parking area, got out changed it over to compass and followed the arrow ,when it said 0 feet I was standing over the hidden cache. That happened 3 more times ,0 feet and it was there !! I'm tickled pink with it. Can you imagin what I'll be able to do when I actually learn how to use it
  13. I thank it looks purty . It don't bother me none at all Now ya'll have a nice day ya hear
  14. Thanks, I sent them an E-mail !
  15. Any body know if Cachemate will work with this operating system? The web site says windows 2000 and above.I've tried both versions for the Palm and for the pocket PC and can't seem to get any to work. I already have the PPC and was just trying to make use of it.
