Any Cachers Here From The Phx, Arizona Area?
Hemlock replied to JeepinJeff's topic in West and Southwest
Interesting. The forums crapped out on my when I tried to move this thread. It made a copy in Off Topic, but left this behind. I'll just provide this link and close this one here. -
From within GSAK, go to the Help menu and select "GSAK thread on geocaching.com" and it will open up the new GSAK forums. I'm sure in the next version of GSAK, Clyde will fix the menu text.

This has nothing to do with geocaching. Moving to Off Topic. -

You know this for a fact? Or do you assume they don't have permission? It's been stated as fact before. I'd do a search and give you a link, but...

Sorry, njlynch1, but I need to put out the flames here before the whole place burns down. If the item is still for sale, feel free to open a new topic with an appropriate asking price. Thanks.

"Commercial" Posting Guidelines...
Hemlock replied to Team Chevelle's topic in GPS technology and devices
What is unclear about "This forum is intended only for personal selling or giving away of geocaching related items. No company or business postings/advertising are allowed" ? It doesn't say "no business posting allowed except when posted by an individual." It says "no business postings allowed." Period. Seems perfectly clear to me -

Yes I guess you could call it a crackdown. I just didn't feel it was necessary to close and bump 45 threads to the top of the list. Closing 2 got the point across -
I wouldn't publish any of those caches, as they all appear to be on railroad property to me. The bridge is most likely RR property. The fence is probably RR property. There is no doubt the station is RR property. You would have to prove to me that you have permission from the railroad, something I've never seen anyone obtain.

If that's the case then the reviewer can retract (un-publish) it. For permanent archives, its best to lock everything down. I've seen too many cases of abuse, which I won't get into here. Don't want to give anyone ideas

Thrak, You have a series of 6 caches in the queue, all in an area that appears to have several puzzles and multis. And you stated in a reviewer note "Please publish them at the same time." Krypton and I have been busy lately with real life. This series will take probably about 30-45 minutes to review. Lately I've been able to sneak some reviewing in, in 10-15 minute increments. Hopefully later this week I'll have a block of time big enough to look at your series. Thank you for your patience.

Since I'm one of your local reviewers, I'll say, it depends. Send me the specifics (coords, etc.) via private email and we'll see what we can work out.

Discussing rumors about upcoming software is fine. Posting links to pirated or unreleased commercial software is not.
-
Not only that, but it violates the Terms of Use and is a great way to get yourself banned from the site completely

Email your friendly neighborhood reviewer. Cache owners can't change the type. Email the reviewer. For caches posted in the last few months, the reviewer will be listed in the first log on the cache, the "published" log. If the cache is older, look at some nearby caches that are newer to see who the reviewer is.

It's at the end of the Long Description.

Since this isn't the right forum for this discussion, and a link has already been provided to a proper discussion, I'm closing this one.

Given the number of mistakes I see where a newbie tries to shoehorn DMS or even D.D coords into the default DM.M form, I would vehemently argue NOT to make that display a standard feature. Advanced users can do the conversion manually, or use a Greasemonkey script, but forcing that display on everyone will cause more problems than it's worth.
