  1. I think now the police are involved that the dog wont get a chance to be muzzled. As you say its very strange, unprovoked and unpredictable behaviour. Ouch to the bite and the tetanus shot, they really make my arm ache
  2. I have the same problem and use IE, also premuim caches now show up on the beta maps which defeats the object of having a PM cache
  3. I was lucky and found a not so popular gps to the extrex on ebay for £20, it was a garmin 12, worked very well, then picked up a garmin III also off ebay for under £20 for the kids to use, however I liked this one better as it was more accurate and we have only recently upgraded thanks to another cacher who sold me their garmin 60map, which I love as well.
  4. Mrs reddeeps here, Mr doesnt do forums. Infact mrs R does all the planning, loading gsaking, loading printing, car loading, picnic making, etc etc. However as soon as we arrive at location Mr R takes control of the gps often with no idea of size, theme, reason for coming etc etc However he is much more patient than me in the hunt, I get bored after a few minutes (sometimes seconds) but him and the kids will stick at it and find far more tham me, who I have to say in my defence cant really hunt anyhow as I am carrying the printouts, kids drinks, swaps, tb's, car keys, pens, kitchen sink etc etc so have no spare hands or arms to even get close to the cache area. However I am still expected to actually sign the log LOL I also solve all the puzzles as Mr R patience doesnt extend past finding a cache. I also log them all once home. I also plan all hides but he will normally be able to make something for me as long as I explain it well!! Which apparently I dont always do! I beg to differ LOL he doesnt always quite listen!!
  5. We have really enjoyed reading these and its been a very hard choice. The star of the photo is Kayleigh and we have let her and her brother Dale pick the winner. The ones they particulary liked are..... in no particular order........ Dgwebsters fear of heights Haggis hunters go ape suggestion Talky toasters catapult Nick and Alis javelin punishment Dakars4*4's age limit Kbfamily with their newbie test Bareclawz forces of nature then narrowing it down from there became very hard, and there was a final disagreement between the kids between dgwebster and nick and ali's. They loved how dgwebster had worded the caption and it made them laugh, but they loved how Nick and Ali had used everything in the picture and especially the message behind it which you wont all know but is very topical on our local forum at the moment.... however the final winner is... ... ... .. .. DGWebster - its just so true, as she really would have said that!!!! I will pm you to sort addy for your prize, and you do know I think this means you have to set Junes photo caption comp!!!!!
  6. Well done, you are definately addicted now
  7. Could you check mine too please, its bound to be a holiday one logged from my phone as that always seems to do strange things via the wap page, but I cant see the duplicate- update ----found it!
  8. Thankyou very much thats really helpful
  9. I wish the smilies would stay when you zoom out, why wont it hide your finds anymore
  10. As it was my comment this thread refers to I thought I would just explain what happened. I found a cache a dropped a tb off at about 2pm, then did another cache and drove home via dropping my son at the fishing lakes, arrived home at 4.30pm and went to log the cache and tb drop, but had already had an email saying the tb had been grabbed, the note on the tb said it had been grabbed from a different cache to were I placed it as well. I did send the grabber a note, asking them to dip the bug in and out of the correct cache, as I couldnt do it as I hadnt kept a note of the tracking number and now it wasnt in my inventory I was stuck. That person has now dipped it into the correct cache so its all sorted! I think the tb is cursed as I had to grab it after waiting almost a month from picking it up from a cache it wasnt listed in and no idea who had moved it.
  11. OK another guess at Amberel. Only ;cas i thought I saw red duster sign one post with regards Andy! But I might have imagined it
  12. People grabbing tb before you have time to log them into a cache, did one today at 2pm, went to log at 4.30pm and it was already grabbed! Is this maybe people caching on iphones etc and they dont realise none iphone users have to get home to log?
  13. I am going to have a wild guess at Mrs B, maybe shes joining Mr B to help.
  14. They have published a cache in the east- are they from here or is that a red herring
  15. If you look on the GAGB site there are details about agreements with the national trust and how to go about it and who to contact.
  16. Poor tank seen much better days, seen on the way to Imber Ghost village http://coord.info/GCKCJV
  17. I just stumbled on this via an advert on facebook. Its on Kents councils main site so must be ok. Its a competition to win real prizes based in Kent, France and Netherlands, thought maybe someone could make use of it. http://www.kent.gov.uk/leisure_and_culture/countryside_and_coast/geocaching_in_kent/transmanche_treasures.aspx
  18. As suggested by Nick and Ali here is a pic we took on the way to a cache by Hellspaw in Warwickshire, now we need a caption to go with it. I may even run to a prize, but it wont be as good as the March one, but sure I can find something, how about a ready made snail cache? Will let this run until the end of March and then the winner will be choosen by the star of the shot!
  19. Here is a series of 29 bridges, one bridge for each lock at Caen Locks for this cache - http://coord.info/GC6A72 then this one near - http://coord.info/GC1XNVT
  20. The penny has dropped, we are off to Wilts for easter and I keep seeing ref to Resuscitator but didnt know what it meant. Thankyou I now understand. One puzzle I have solved would qualify me for this if I find it, but no resuscitator cache nearby or near home, so will have to save for another time. I presume we cant list these types of caches anymore due to the ALR, or are they excluded?
  21. I found a sort of temporary fix to let me print what I need for the easter holiday, via the osm maps in GSAK for the cache pages (Im still not paperless), then exporting from GSAK via a google earth macro, and using the os overlays in google earth, to get the proper os maps for the area. I hope that makes sense as Im not techie, but it worked for me
  22. I love this script but all I get now is unable to contact server, does anyone know if there is a problem or if its just me.
