  1. In the Orlando area, there is a TB Hotel that's North of Orlando International Airport. Orlando Airport TB Hotel by Blue Man (1/1.5) N28° 28.660 W81° 18.728 (WGS84) Use waypoint: GCBDC2 Thanks fegan. We really appreciate the help. Hope to drop off a couple of Canadian coins when we come down to Florida. Hope the weather warms up a little!

  3. Since I didn't have any feedback on Casey Key, how about Orlando and Westin. Any caches there that would be suitable coin drop off points. Like a TB motel or something like that?
  4. We're travelling to Casey Key near the end of February. Am looking for a place to drop my new KAG coin from Kingston Canada. I've seen so many logs where coins have gone missing that I'm a little hesitant, but it is so much fun watching them come home! Seniors, not able to do a lot of hiking, so please let us know if we should change our planned drop.
  5. Hi DominoGirl, We just did a couple of caches while in Vegas. You have to do "Special Memory" I'm sure it's a one-of-a kind! There is also one for the top of the Eiffel Tower but you need to read the requirements first (we didn't!) Be sure to take a TB or geocoin with you. We've had great fun watching ours move. As for the hundred caches in a day - I don't think even the best of the best could handle that (lol) but if you can find that bookmark listing, it would make your job a lot easier. I would say a rental car is definitely a good start. Red Rock Canyon would be great place to hike if you plan on getting out of the city. Have a great trip!
  6. first time posting a question - is this hundred caches in a day for the Las Vegas area? hubs and I are coming to Vegas in Sept and want a day or two of caching - but I see so many options and don't know where to start. It looks like a rental car first... thx.
  7. Thanks for your suggestions and your sense of humour! I wish I had time to do more caches in your area. There are soooo many to choose from. A Special Memory will certainly suit my purpose for this trip. I'm hoping we can do a virtual or two while we're on the strip. We're staying in the peace Canyon area and I think we may be able to sneak in one or two there. Then a day out to Red Rock and it'll be time to go home. Man, that was a short trip! I've got myself back home before I get there!!!!!! Thanks again. Hope I can return the favour someday.
  8. Hi I'm coming to visit Las Vegas next week and I'm hoping that someone will be willing to share their expertise. I'm only in the area for a few days and I'm looking for an "easily accessible" cache to drop off a travel bug. The idea is that I can watch the progress of my travel bug during the cold Canadian winter when caching might not be so easy to do here at home. I've done quite a bit of searching but mostly I'm finding micros in the Vegas area. Since I'm a "senior" female, I need a cache that doesn't require ropes and ladders! My home base will be in the northwest side of the city and we are hoping to get into the Red Rock Canyon area. I'd appreciate any help I can get. How concerned do I have to be about flora and fauna (especially wriggly things!) while caching?
  9. I recently purchased a geocoin that I want to take to the USA while on holidays. I tried to activate this coin as per the instructions, but was unable to do so. I contacted the seller and he was able to activate the coin on his account. He then had to contact geocaching.com to somehow make it possible for me to adopt my own coin! Can some one please tell me what gives? I'm a newbie so plain English would be greatly appreciated! I also have a travel slug that I am going to have to go through the same procedure for. I'm thinking that maybe I won't bother with any more trackables of my own. I am able to log "retrieves" and "discovers" without problem. I can't tell you how much I appreciate these forums. Many answers to many problems!
  10. You need to use the "Map Tool" in MapSource, which allows you to select map segments from the main window. The Map Tool can be selected by selecting Map from the Tools menu (Tools-->Map), or you can make sure the Tools toolbar is showing (View-->Show Toolbars-->Tools), and then select the Map Tool from the Tools toolbar. Now you can choose the map segments that you wish to load into the GPS. The map segments you select will be highlighted in the main window, and the map segment's name and size will be under the Maps tab window on the left side of the screen. Thanks for replying. As I found out from another helpful soul, I need to buy "City Navigator" then I can download maps. I was trying to download maps from the base maps that came with the unit. That doesn't work. Thanks again!

  14. I just bought a Garmin Legend Hcx mostly for geocaching, which comes with MapSource downloadable maps. I'm confuse as to how to download the maps. If I see a map on the screen, how do I select it to download to my device? I can download waypomts which include a basemap but can anyone tell me how to download a map that I can follow turn by turn???
