  1. Me too. Just got my D5 and about to try the earthcache, but I hope it's not a waste of time. I was pretty sure today (Sep 2) was the last day. I'm bummed I also found both a D5 and T5 and was not awarded the souvenir, yet I attended an event today and when I logged it I got that souvenir
  2. I just created a reverse geocache Wherigo that randomizes the invisible target so it is different each and every time a person plays. Mysterious Box If any are interested in how I did that let me know. Thanks for posting the static method, that will be very helpful for my next project I am working on as it is a much easier way to do the reverse cache concept.
  3. I just had this issue occur on one of my cartridges that was working fine on prior versions of WhereYouGo. I was able to locate issue to these lines of code local d,b = Wherigo.VectorToPoint(Player.ObjectLocation, zoneTarget.Points[1]) local dist2 = d("ft") '--feet dont work on droids' local dist2 = d()'--use this instead When you use dist2 on a iPhone or a Garmin device the results are in feet, but using Android(WhereYouGo v0.8.10) you get results in meters. This of course caused me issues later when I was comparing how far away a user was from a point. I decided to start using the default of meters and covert that in to meters for display purposes when needed. Hope that helps
  4. Thank you for your reply. However the problem is I had already removed the .gwc file by doing exactly as you suggest (yes, there is a "Wherigo" in the Oregon directory). However the cartridge is still displayed in the Wherigo menu on the GPS after it is disconnected from the computer and can still be played. When I re-connect to the computer the /Wherigo/ folder on the device is empty except the two subfolders "Logs" and "Saves". Even when I delete these as well when I turn the GPS back on as a stand alone the cartridge is still there. I am trying to delete the cartridge on a permanent basis, but the .gwc file does not appear to act in the same way as when you delete a ".gpx" file. No problem deleting them. regards, Have you by chance tried removing the batteries from the GPS to make sure that anything that could be in the GPS memory is erased?
  5. I agree the the biggest weakness of the current Android player is not being able to download directly from the app itself. The current App has been taken over and is getting updates on a regular basis, you can monitor its updates here WhereYouGo. Since this is the only option us Android users have and the developer is active we might be able to get the developer to add the download feature to the current App.

  7. Never seen anything like this on Garmin or Android, since the Zone has two properties that need to be set to true in order to be an active & visible I would mess around with them. They are Display & Active.
  8. Looking forward to taking this out for a spin.
  9. I found no place to do this. It seems, that the new website is nice, but only in czech, like on twitter. Google Translate has not yet been implemented into the site. Try not to view the site in Chrome and have them translate. I do it every day with pages in English :-) Chrome handles the Translation of the site just fine. Only thing I have found is that sample projects and not translated. Would be worth it to add some English and German sample projects as well?
  10. Things seem to be moving well for Windows version of player, any updates for Android or iOS?
  11. Will this player eventually port over to Android & iOS?
  12. Every Android phone I have used has this problem. Both of my friends have the same issue. No active development on the app in a very long time so don't think it will ever get fixed. Looks like I spoke to soon. I was adjusting some settings in the WhereYouGo app and found a place to adjust the compass. Go in to Settings, then Sensors, Then Angle rotation modifier, if this is other then zero(my was 270) then change it to zero and see if that gets your compass pointing in the right direction. Worked for me. Good Luck!
  13. Every Android phone I have used has this problem. Both of my friends have the same issue. No active development on the app in a very long time so don't think it will ever get fixed.
  14. A completion code only works for the user that downloads the cartridge. So in order for her to get a completion code she would need to download the cartridge under her Wherigo account and run the Wherigo separate from yours.
  15. Create a variable called TimeLeft Upon exit - Set TimeLeft = Timer.Remaining Upon resume Set Timer.Duration = TimeLeft Start Timer Something like that should work
  16. Any chance you could add a feature to make the final cache coordinates a player inventory item and Obfuscate the string? Better to close this hole, if you know what I mean before word gets out. For now I need to import the cartridge in to URWIGO and do it there.
  17. Your first photo listed is way to big for Wherigo's, have you tried reducing the picture sizes to the media specs available here Media Specs?
  18. Wherigo.com does not like any foreign characters (tough for us foreigners). Standard procedure: - remove all text from the cartridge description on Wherigo.com - try again - if fixed, re-insert text portions till it dies again -> identify strange character - if not fixed, I have no clue TWO THUMBS UP!!!! My user name is surrounded with quotes "Nessmuk" and removing the quotes around it in the author field of the Wherigo cartridge page seemed to fix the issue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Nessmuk
  19. Not sure if this is a compiler issue or Kit issue. I have a cartridge built with Kit that is getting an error on the download page of Wherigo. Riddles in the Dark I am not sure how to go about fixing it. I have tried publishing it through Kit and that tries to make a entirely new Cartridge page. I then did a manual update with a GWZ from Kit and that update fine but still get the error on the download page of Wherigo after the update. Anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this issue?

    Battle

I have an RPG near completion and I have set mine up to be simple d20 roll battles against on of their stats. Example Code zEncounterCheck = zAC + math.random(1,20) encounters.c.first = zName .." was following a trail through the woods when "..hisher.." foot was violently yanked out from under "..himher..". "..hisher.." body followed, and "..heshe.." was suddenly upside down, swaying back and forth from a tree branch. Then goblins with big sticks emerged from the woods." encounters.c.success = "The goblins took turns trying to smash "..zName.." with sticks while cackling jokes to each other. Between "..hisher.." expert wiggling and "..hisher.." armor, "..zName.." didn't receive any real injuries. "..heshe.." reached out with "..hisher.." "..zWeaponType.." and attacked one of the goblins in the face. Their tone instantly changed and they scurried away from their dangerous prey. This gave "..zName.." plenty of time to free "..himselfherself.." and follow their fresh tracks." encounters.c.goldsuccess = math.random(15,17) encounters.c.XPsuccess = 46 encounters.c.fail = "The goblins took turns trying to smash "..zName.." with sticks while cackling jokes to each other. They were quite successful too, which did not feel good to "..zName..". Eventually, "..heshe.." reached out with "..hisher.." fists and punched one of the goblins in the face. Their tone instantly changed and they scurried away from their dangerous prey. This gave "..zName.." plenty of time to free "..himselfherself.."." encounters.c.goldfail = math.random(5,6) encounters.c.damage = math.random(4,7) encounters.c.XPfail = 20 encounters.c.CheckAmt = 26 encounters.c.roll = zName.." made an Armor Class check with a difficulty of "..encounters.c.CheckAmt.." and rolled..... "..zEncounterCheck encounters.c.successMSG = zName.." earned "..zXPEarned.."XP and found "..zGoldFound.." gold coins.\n The goblins dropped almost everything they had in the escape." encounters.c.failMSG = zName.." earned "..zXPEarned.."XP. Found "..zGoldFound.." gold coins. However the attack caused "..zDamageTaken.." damage." This is one of many encounters the play may come across. As far as how I am handling death, when a play dies they are placed in limbo, I shut down all the active zones and activate some graveyards. The player must return to one of the graveyards and speak to the spirit healer. After she heals them I turn off the graveyard zones and activate the zones the were active prior to death. Hope that helps
  21. Any updates on how the players(Android, iOS, Win8) development is coming along?

    Media specs?

I can't find the post that I read this in, but I read to make sure all the pictures were in jpg format. And I would also make sure all your pictures meet the width specs at the top of this thread.
  23. Thank you, I will play around with this and take it out for a spin.

I am using URWIGO if that matters. Nessmuk
  25. Ok, so after much trial and error I figured out that if you change the Identifier from Automatic to a custom one then I can gain access to to the variable. If there are other ways I would be curious as to how else this can be done.
