Ok, I should have explained a mite better. I was thinkn' of cutting a full width can height strip out of the aluminum and wrapping it around the cache. If it were picked as garbage it wouldn't feel right and one look at either end would reveal the plastic container. I only wanted to confuse the eye of the casual glance, not make it become part of the garbage. I always try to leave an area a little nicer than I found it and that includes taking garbage out. Started doing this long before GPS existed. Thanks for all the great replies. DD

I've found some great very strong and watertight plastic cylinder shaped containers. They have good hinged lids that snap closed very well. I also found some small bound lab style note books at Wal Mart that just fit in them. The nalgene plastic containers appear to be about the size of a plastic beverage can. So, would the aluminum from say, a Coke can, be good camo for one of these? Like, hide among the enemy? DD
