    wrong page bug

this happens to me too in more than one place...especially when editing my own cache pages. I hit the back button and click the link again and it goes to the correct page the second time. Happy Halloween
  2. Where'd everyone go? Happy Halloween
  3. While stuck at home with my leg in a cast, I ran into another forum online that was trashing geocaching and when I linked over to see what the fuss was about, I got hooked. I don't think thats what the response the other forum was going for but as soon as the cast came off, I hobbled to my first cache! Its been rough dealing with my new addiction and managing college but tomorrow is my last final of the semester and then I can get some serious caching done! I even figured out a way to write a term paper for my Recreation and Leisure class on geocaching! And I got an A+ too! PS. The bows on my bra have a purpose? Happy Halloween
  4. Its been 32 days since i found my first cache and I am at 76 finds as of today. I doubt i can mantian this since i'll have to drive farther and farther for eache future cache. But if i can I would have 866.875 caches by my one year anniversary. Happy Halloween haha...in addition to these numbers, I can tell i am addicted because I typed "eache" [This message was edited by Woof! on May 20, 2003 at 09:01 PM.]

I think it kinda just slowly died out of the TODO list. http://www.markwell.us http://www.chicagogeocaching.com I did notice that on the "search for travel bug" page there is a note at the top that says "You can currently only search by keyword. New features will be added soon." So I'll keep my fingers crossed" Thanks for the replies everyone. Happy Halloween

I wish there was a way to get notified when a travel bug is placed in my area. Or better yet, a way to search for travel bugs by zip code. I know I can watch all the caches near me, but it would be cool to have a more direct way. I searched the forums but didn't find anything. Maybe I am missing something and this already exists, like for premium members or something...just wondering. Happy Halloween [This message was edited by Woof! on May 14, 2003 at 02:11 PM.]
  8. it was "attacked to a bottle"? sorry couldn't resist Happy Halloween
  9. The first thing I took was a dog toy, which was disemboweled within 10 minutes of giving it to my puppy. The second thing I took was a small rubber fish which I glued a magnet to. I stuck it on the wall in my bathroom which is covered in magnetic paint. Still trying to figure out a way to use this paint on a cache. Happy Halloween

If she doesn't like it, can he trade her for a McToy? Or would this be considered trading down? Happy Halloween
  11. I really like my Geko 201. The small screen size isn't a problem because without mapping, there really isn't any display that would require a bigger screen. I like that its smaller than my cell phone. For an entry level unit its the best, IMHO. Happy Halloween

Simple, easy, direct. Does anybody really hike for two miles in 100 degree heat for any type of trinket? I think the issue should be wether or not the cache is placed in an area that makes the trek in worthwhile. Lets face it, your never going to find anything near priceless in a cache. Happy Halloween
  13. there are over 2500 caches hidden withing 100 miles of me. I just started 1 month ago and found my 57th today. I haven't hidden one yet and I don't plan to until I am good and ready. I agree with TheEdge that holding someone to an arbitrary ratio would lead to low quality caches. It seems to me that you should learn about terrain ratings from finding and not from hiding. 14. Found a moustrap in a cache today...maybe one of yours? Happy Halloween
  15. Just an asside on scaring yourself with your own trinkets... My dogs like to take the voice boxes and squeekers out of their toys. One of them was a halloween toy that made a cackling noise when your squeezed it which I stuck in my trinket bag because I thought it was cool. Later that week I had just completed a cache in the middle of no where- it was scorching hot, there were sheep bones and carcasses all around, and I was nervous about doing this one by myself. I was walking back to the car and got myself worked up when I couldn't see it up ahead where my gps said it should have been. It turned out that I just couldn't see it over a burm. Anyhow, once I was back in the car (i found the cache succesfully) and my nerves were settling down, I hear the cackling. It took me a couple seconds to realize what it was and a full 10 minutes afterward for my heart rate to return to a normal speed. Happy Halloween
  16. I'm looking for someone to partner up on this cache too. My user name translates to 96'31.5 As longitude this puts it near Tulsa, Oklahoma; Topeka, Kansas; or Omaha Nebraska...I think. GC3153 Basicaly you can fill in the rest of the longitude and make up any lattitude you want. Just take a picture of your gps at the co-ordinates and we both get to log the cache! Happy Halloween
  17. Don't know if you talked to BThomas but we're planning on going Tuesday night to hit some spots around SF. Email me or him to coordinate. emilysaurus@yahoo.com Happy Halloween
  18. sounds good, just let me know when you plan on going and I'll tag along Um, but i am recovering from a broken leg (got my cast off a week and a half ago) so i can't scale any mountains just yet. Happy Halloween
  19. I'm just getting into this awesome sport (found my second cache today) but I'm finding it increasingly necesary to have a co-navigator. So, I'm looking for an experieced geocacher (or someone to learn with together) to take me under their wing. I live in San Francisco, I'm young, adventerous and enthusiastic, but I can also be a little shy so I don't know many people in the area. Any ideas?emilysaurus@yahoo.com Happy Halloween
  20. I'm very new to this, found my first and only cache two days ago and failed to find four others since then. I'm still learning how to use my gps which is extremely hard to do without a co-navigator in the passenger seat. I don't know very many people in the this city and I'd love to find an experienced geocacher to take me under their wing. I live in San Franciso, 20 years old, female, any ideas? emilysaurus@yahoo.com Happy Halloween
