  1. The postman just delivered my two coins (copper and black nickel) today! Thanks Bernice!
  2. I got a Utah Rocks! Geocoin in my mailbox the other day. I really love the choice of metal, enamel and tranlucent sky... they all work well together, depicting the Skylight Arch in Arches National Park.
  3. I was just in my local REI (Northridge, California) the other day, and was shocked/surprised to see an entire row of shelves dedicated to geocaching! Besides many Groundspeak products, including travel tags, they also had two or three geocoins! By the way, I already have three Garmin Rinos (and love 'em) but the reason I was in there was to compare the Oregon 400t with the Oregon 550t (for Wherigo caching). I decided on the 400t for various reasons... mostly battery life, and ordered one online (much cheaper). It should arrive today!
  4. Being a big fan of Doctor Who, I just have to have this coin based on a TARDIS... whoops, I mean based on a a Police Call box in Derbyshire It rocks! Email sent. Please save two for me.
  5. 6. There are one or two caches in my area that have had cache owner imposed "traveller" trading rules. I think I first noticed this when the Jeep 4x4 TBs came out. Some cache owners made up rules like: one Jeep in, one Jeep out, etc., and the silly rules had even escalated to the point that one particular cacher actually held onto all the travellers (coins and TBs) in her "TB Hotel" (prison) and when cachers logged a find, they were allowed to email her for a list to discover them. YUK !!!! Travellers are FREE SPIRITS and completely separate from caches. They are NOT swag and should not be treated as such. Just pick 'em up and move 'em along. If a cache owner ever imposes some sort of rule over travellers entering their cache, JUST IGNORE IT. Cache owners have no business, right or authority to do such a thing. It is solely the right of the Travel Bug or Geocoin owner to set goals for their travellers.
  7. I'd love to get a black nickel and a copper. Email sent.
  8. I personally prefer the Garmin Rino series. I have two rino 120s and a rino 130. They have two-way radios, great GPS reception, and can send and receive waypoints. If you go out packing with a group and everyone is carrying a Garmin rino: - You can stay in touch by radio - You can look at your map on the screen and see exactly where everyone (with a rino) is in real time This can be very handy if you decide to split into smaller groups, etc.
  9. 1 x Geocacher's Star 2009 - Antique Copper XLE Finally! * * Geocoinshop.de shipped it on October 12, and it finally arrived yesterday afternoon...
  10. Three coins today! 1 x Geocoin Fest 2009 (Antique Bronze LE) 1 x Wonders Geocoin - Sphinx Mystery Cache (Shiny Gold LE) 1 x GCC March 2009 - Lucky Horseshoe (SE Gold) Plus... the activations codes for my three 2009 Halloween Evil Micros (see Post #17030, above) were finally in the Oakcoins database this afternoon, so I was able to activate them in time for Halloween!
  11. I especially like the gold version! Would love to get one!!!
  12. Yippie!!! I just got my 2009 Evil Micros in the mail. 1 x 2009 Halloween Evil Micro Gold 1 x 2009 Halloween Evil Micro Nickel 1 x 2009 Halloween Evil Micro Black Nickel SE They all look great. PS - Just one glitch... when I went to Oakcoins to retrieve the codes, I got the following message (and Halloween is tomorrow): That coin's not found in our database The failure to recieve a code could be due to the following: The activation code has already been retrieved. The Tracking code from the coin is incorrect. The Coin number from the coin is incorrect. Please check to make sure the correct tracking code and Coin Number from the coin are entered in. Please try to get your activation code again. If this fails, or you are having problems, please contact us via email at "support at oakcoins.com". I'm guessing the numbers haven't been uploaded into the database yet.

  14. My gold coin arrived a few days ago... Thanks!
  15. What's the current best GPSr for playing Wherigo? Colorado? Oregon? Other? And what's the best version and update combo? I've been caching for years with Garmin Rino 120s and 130s (and love 'em), so I'm used to using them. I also use a Sprint Palm Treo 750p with CacheMate; would that be useful for Wherigos? Thanks!
  16. Great design! I'll be keeping an eye on GeoSwag.
  17. I won't be able to make it to Geocoinfest this year, but I'd definitely like to get some (the copper and gold versions caught my eye).
  18. Looking good! PS - If there's room and it doesn't detract from the look of the coin, you may want to add a reference to the URL for Moon Type (a simplified alphabet for the blind, invented by Dr William Moon in 1845). The URL could go on the edge of the coin. Moon Type http://www.nyise.org/archives/moonpage/index.html
  19. Found mine in the mailbox today! Thanks!!! Clan Doyle Lucky Penny Geocoin
