  1. The Garmin Oregon 6xx series does not do Wherigos. Make sure you have no filters set on the new Oregon
  2. According to the Garmin website, the eTrex Venture HC is NOT compatible with a chirp. The only eTrex that can find a chirp is the eTrex 30.
  3. We have hosted several events in the past and are hosting one in about 2 weeks. We spend many hours planning our events and coming up with a good cache page. Our biggest hope is that everyone that attends will have a good time. That being said, we wish that someone would have repeated the old saying- "You can't please all the people all the time". Although they were in the minority, we were heartbroken with some negative comments and logs. A good friend told us to not focus on the minority and look at the overall picture. As it turned out, we did not stop hosting events. We love hosting them and hope to encourage more cachers to host them also. So, in answer to your question, we wish somebody would have told us that not everyone appreciates your hard work, but an overwelming majority do.
  4. Take a look at A Cool Cache GC15RQB. It is a fun cache and located at a geocaching store. The COs are great people and can help you find interesting caches in the area.
  5. You might want to check out Lake Manatee State Park. Nice campground and lots of caches.
  6. Anyway, all that aside, the descriptions and names I was referring to were what you were putting into the boxes on Wherigo.com, not on Kit. On Wherigo.com, it tells you the maximum total characters for each text box, but it does not seem to enforce it. Thus, if you go over this number, the site's code crashes. That's what I was getting at. I found the problem. The descriptions were not too long. There was a symbol in the description that the site did not like, so I removed it and everything worked fine. Thanks again Ranger Fox.
  7. Can we share this with you on kit so you can see if they are OK?
  8. We have recently developed a cartridge using Ranger Fox's Kit site (Thank You Ranger Fox) and everything worked great. We then uploaded the finished cart to Wherigo.com which worked great also. Next, we went to edit the cart to make it active and allow it to be shown in the directory. This is where the problem is. When we hit save changes, we got an error page. The error page gives no specifics and only links you back to the Wherigo.com home page. We have tried this on multiple browsers and several different computers. We were curious about the edit problem, so we decided to edit our profile as a test and ended up back at the same error page. Has anyone else experienced this or did we do something wrong? Our thanks for any input
  9. Got our coin today. Very beautiful. The detail is amazing! Thank you MO Pirate.
  10. We missed this thread earlier. Can we get one?
  11. Best reality show we have seen .......EVER!!!
  12. Sunset is at 9:45 local time in Ft. Albany. Plenty of time if they aren't too tired.
  13. How far from the river is the cache? According to the cache page it is about 75 yards from the river bank
  14. If they keep up the current pace they will arrive in less than 2 hours (unless they hide a couple)
  15. Roughly 77 miles to go. We're pulling for you!
  16. I recently encountered the same problem while trying to test my first cartridge. I verified that my password was correct and tried again with the same result. This is not a solution to your problem-just a way to work around it (or at least the way I did it). I downloaded the GWZ file from Wherigo\\kit for manual upload to Wherigo.com. Used their compiler feature and uploaded my GWZ to get a GWC file. It worked great for me.
  17. We have read several books on geocaching. This one was very interesting to us because we have met the author and attended one of his events And it takes place in Florida. Check it out- Serial Finder By the way, you can read it now.
  18. Just a couple of suggestions on your trip. If you plan to go to Kennedy Space Center, try to find some time to visit A Cool Cache . It is reportedly the most favorited traditional cache in Florida. And, it is located at a store totally dedicated to Geocaching. If you make it to the Tampa area, you should try to go a little further to find Travel Bug Plaza Hotel & Suites . The cache page says it all. As for the creepy and crawly things, stay focused and give them their space.
  19. You might want to check out the Space Coast Geocachers Association. They are very popular and widespread on the east coast of Florida. If they are not in your area, I am sure they can help guide you to other cachers that can help.
  20. Thanks for the cointest. Great coin! I want in. Happy New Year!
  21. This just in- GeoWoodstock XI will be in Paradise!!!! Check it out GeoWoodstock XI
  22. Geocaching in the panhandle earlier this week. Quite different-there are hills up there!
