  1. I will try that again today. When I try to download/copy the GPX files I get a message that I don't have a "mac communicator" but when I download that it doesn't seem to do any good. Hopefully I can figure it out before taking off tomorrow!
  2. I haven't decided if it's my exporist GC or mac that's going out the window but one of them is. I use MacCaching. I am able to move .loc files to it and make lists. For example I have a list called "Wednesday with Jay" because on Wednesday I'm going caching with my friend, Jay. I plug in my Magellan and it shows up. I click "to gps" and transfer this list (Wednesday with Jay). And everything looks fine. I open my GPS and click "geocaches" and it shows that there are none there. Uh? When I go into my GPS via the Magellan icon on my desktop it SHOWS THE CACHES. Anyone have any clue how I can fix this? My partner in weekly geocaching related crime has been creating our routes and we've been using his GPS because I'm having such a devil of a time figuring out wtf is going on with my GPS. HELP!
  3. It appears Long Island is facing a sad infestation of micros in parking lots. Boo! I'll be popping through East Norwich/Oyster Bay and want to find some good ones. Other than Muttontown Preserve are there any hotspots?? I'm also going to be in Coney Island, Williamsburg, the village, little Italy, and midtown if there are any must do caches in those 'hoods. Thanks!
  4. Also, no worries about not publishing yet - I'm doing district 10 and it's not up either. Best laid plans or whatever And yes, I plan on doing them all.
  5. So let me bet the first to say it: y'all are awesome. After throwing this out there I was blow away by not only the interest but the lengths people went through to be creative and the huge number of pictures, etc I was sent. I, of course, got incredibly sick and then started pulling seventy hour work weeks but you all kept it going and it's awesome. If everyone could post a link to any of the caches they hid I'll create the challenge. Will be putting the thank you gifts in the mail on Monday in the morning. Yay!
  6. Thanks for the patience, all. Today is the first day I've felt like even half a human. Sending out the emails now

  16. I'm seeking thirteen cachers willing to help hide caches that will be part of a series. Because of the awesome nature of this series I don't want to put too much on here. If you are interested and live in one of the following areas, please just respond with "I'm interested" and I will message you the details and we can figure out whether or not it will work. We are looking at moving quickly so that caches can be published on March 23. I will keep updating here as we get volunteers. Please, please, please: no spoilers! I included a few hints just to let people know; if you limit your response to that you're interested we would greatly appreciate it. If you're interested and someone else gets to us first there are still chances for you to get involved! For those interested we will quickly email to discuss the hide and send you the info. The names and much of the cache info is already developed. You get to own, maintain, and brag about the fact that you helped. You also get a pin to prove your awesomeness Current needs: A. 17. That's clear as mud, eh? Basically I want to be able to say, "While you're here, why not find my other cache in this park?" and have "my other cache in this park" be a link leading to that other cache.
  18. If I want to include a link to another cache I've hidden in the same park, how do I make it a link? I'm useless when there's not a button.
  19. I'll be thirty five in March and started caching in April of 2003.
  20. I remember reading somewhere that commercial/political/religious stuff should be avoided.
  21. My husband and I switched from Windows to Mac in the fall and now that I'm starting to plan for a huge caching trip I realize I'm getting sick of manually inputting coords. On my PC I had a program where I downloaded the waypoints and then used EasyGPS (I think that was the name) to transfer them to my Magellan. I'm looking for software recommendations now that EasyGPS doesn't work for me. Help!
