  1. Just a quick dumb question. If we submit our orders by email, how should we pay for them? I am planning to send a check and a copy of the order form. Is the e-mail just to let you know that an order is coming? Thanks Terrible Ts EDIT: I just found my answer in the "The Travel Bug" forum. Please disregard this message.
  2. I just went back throug the thread and realized that we had not expressed our interest in getting some of these geocoins. So, we would be interested in getting 3 of them. Thanks Terrible Ts

  9. Personally I like Cachemate, but its not free ($8) and it does so much more. You can download gpx files into it (with or without past logs), or LOC files and it lets you catergorize them into different catagories (Found, Not found, Unfiled, Benchmarks and Owned). You can add your own customized catagories. You can have multiple database of caches. When I am traveling I usually create a new database using the city name. That way I still have my hometown caches with me, along with destination caches. It keeps track of logging info, if you enter it. Time stamps on start, and finish. It has a place to enter the things you traded and an area to list travel bugs traded. It has an hint decoder, which makes it a little too easy to decode hints (self control required ). It also can compute a list of nearest caches, like your GPSr does. This comes in handy we we are inside and trying to plan out our hunts. The plugins are great also. There is a mapopolis plugin which allows you to transfer the current, or a group of cache coords to mapopolis. There is a coord format converter and a distance conversion plugin, plus others. The only thing it doesn't do that would be nice, is download any graphic images. So some puzzle caches you can't do from Cachemate. I think that is a limitation of the GPX files, not Cachemate. If you are thinking about a Palm app for geocaching I can heartily recomend Cachemate. Check it out. Sorry, no Pocket PC version. After reading over this post I realized I was starting to preach. Sorry if this sounds too commercial, but I really like Cachemate. JimT Terrible Ts I am not associated with Smittyware except as a satisfied customer.
  10. I just wanted to thank everyone for the information. I am stuck in Dallas on a business trip, so I will be putting off any purchases for a little while. Since I work downtown Seattle, I will be checking out the REI there. I am 47 years young, and I think my feet have stopped growing. I just wish the rest of me would. Hopefully these new boot will help (more exercise) . My old boots were really hurting my feet if I wore them more than 4 hours. Thanks Everybody JimT Terrible Ts
  11. Hi, I am looking to buy a new pair of hiking boots. I am more looking for good stores rather than specific boot brands. Does anyone have a recomendation for a store with knowlegable staff and willingness to work with their customers to find a proper fitting boot. I have heard good things about Feet and Shoes(I think thats their name), off Madison, in downtown Seattle. I don't know if they carry hicking boots. I have problems find tennis shoes that fit properly, so I usually end up at Nordstoms, buying extra wide shoes. I figure that someone out there has a recomendation (good or bad) about their boot buying experiences. I am interested in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area (Tacoma to Everett). EDIT: Forgot to add shopping area and spelling. Thanks JimT
  12. Well, I just wanted to let you all know that I picked up the #25 Alaska Cache-N-Dash TB. Since it being my Birthday today, I am felling pretty lucky that #25 will be picked for the trip . I am pretty much open to any date right now. Mid-week is cool. I have a bunch of vacation that I haven't used yet. I am looking forward to the drawing. Best of luck.. JimT Terrible Ts
  13. It appears to have cleaned it self up. I was having the problem with Firefox. I tried using IE and it worked, and when I went back to Firefox it worked also. Oh Well JimT
  14. I'm also having problems with the "Bookmark Listing" button. I have 4 cache pages open I want to add to one of my bookmark lists and I am getting the same error. Creation failed. You have exceeded the maximum number of bookmark lists for your account. I only have 2 bookmark lists. Thanks JimT
  15. We'll take May 1, 2005. Terrible Ts
  16. How so? How do I do this? And/or what export format do I use in GSAK to do this? You don't use GSAK. You have to download a cachemate plugin (Mapopolis Export 1.0) from here: http://www.smittyware.com/palm/cachemate/plugins.php . Then in cachemate you can export a bunch or just one cache into your addressbook and mapopolis will see it. The plugin adds a couple of new buttons to the cachemate display. When you are in the list there is a "Ex" button next to the "New" button which exports multiple caches. When viewing a cache, there is a "Map" button addded to the bottom row near the "Done" button which exports the current cache. I was playing with this last night, after reading this thread. It seems to work fine. I have not tried this in the field yet. JimT Terrible T's
  17. I would be interested in trading a 2004 WA geocoin for and Idaho one. I sent you a PM also. JimT The Terrible T's
  18. Hooo! That's a nice price break from what I was paying! Thanks! I just recieved my order from www.air-tites.com for the X6 X40mm Ring 1.6" Military Challenge Coin with black or white ring for 75 cents each, and they fit perfectly. The X6 series is designed to hold thicker coins (Military Challenge coins, Casino Chips). They do require a minimum order of $10. I ordered mine late on the 5th of March and they got here on the 9th. I think the WA Geocoins look great in this holder. JimT The Terrible T's
  19. We would be interested in 1 of the silver coins and 5 of the regular coins. Thanks JimT The Terrible T's
  20. Thanks Black Dog Trackers! DSWIN worked great. Watcher was able to handle the smaller file size just fine. JimT
  21. Is anyone else having problemw getting Watcher (version 0.1.36) to write out a filtered list of Benchmarks. I downloaded King County, Washington state (2716 benchmarks) and converted the dat to gpx using bmgpx version 1.052 and 1.053. I am trying to use watcher to filter down the number, and just get the closest marks to my house. I have filtered the list down 60 marks, but when I try to "Save As" the status bar only gets up to 2% then hangs. Checking the task manager, I am seeing watcher grab a bunch of CPU time right at the begining, but when it hits 2% the System Idle Process get 96% of the CPU. I have let the watcher program run for 1 hour and it nevered moved off of 2%. I am having the same problem with both versions of bmgpx. I have not tried an older verion of watcher. I am running Win2000. Watcher is working fine for GeoCaches. Any ideas? Thanks JimT
