  1. The official app doesn't. 3rd-party ones like Cachly include a date+time picker when creating a log entry. Of course that still leaves the issue, which has been complained about for years, of Groundspeak not having time + timezone support. Here in New Zealand the GS day ticks over at 20:00, though it varies depending who's in daylight saving. You can work out when the cutover is, because it's Pacific Standard/Daylight Time.
  2. It can take a little while (a few hours?) for your stats to catch up after deleting duplicate log entries, and the total at the top of the page can be different from the Stats page during that time.
  3. Project-GC offers GPX export via the Virtual GPS, but I don't know what fields it includes, and can't find any docs/help.
  4. I've done this, but so infrequently I do it semi-manually: add a space to the start and end of the string. Then do (up to) 26 find & replaces in your favourite text editor (mine's BBEdit) of (space)(code)(space) with (space)(letter)(space). e.g. replace all ' JH ' with ' B '.
  5. Tested Open Street Map, and you're right, it's overly sensitive there too. I have the original Magic Mouse, don't know if that makes a difference.
  6. I've experienced this in previous versions of the official app. Haven't tried the latest, I've been driven to 3rd-party app. Don't know what the trigger is. You can delete the extraneous logs through the website, by visiting each cache. It may take a few minutes for your statistics to catch up.
  7. Cachly: lovingly crafted interface, easy to use, stable, tons of features (including real offline support, field notes, draft logs, logging NM), regularly updated, and every forum post is diligently & quickly responded to. The (API enforced) limitation of sometimes only seeing 50 caches at a time is a nuisance, but can be managed fairly easily, and is being mitigated further in V2.
  8. Interesting to know Twinklekitkat, though I'm reluctant to use a feature which isn't officially supported… might find it gets dropped. frinklabs: doesn't look like it's going to happen from a skim of those threads — it's been asked for since 2011? But yes, would like for Wherigos.
  9. Thanks guys, but this is on 2 different computers, and the geocaching website map is the only place it happens. Is anybody else running Safari, and sees this happen or not happen?
  10. When using the main map to look at caches, you just have to look at the mouse for the map to start randomly zooming in, it's incredibly annoying. I've asked 2 other computer-literate people, same issue. If I very carefully and deliberately try to use the hand tool to move the map around, it still happens. Safari 9.1.3 on OS X.
  11. Read… maybe. Take on board or acknowledge… no. GS's actions have made their position on this new app clear: dumb it down, saddle it with an atrocious interface, fill it with videos and gratuitous animations & messages which slow down navigation, and ignore community feedback. The app's still incredibly buggy and feature deficient, and development is glacial. It's the official app, I really wanted to like and use it.
  12. Yep, same issue as Rikitan. Worked a couple of hours ago, now Message Center (NZ: Centre) is empty. Safari 9.1.2 on OS X 10.11.6 Edit: about 6 reloads later, and my existing messages are now displaying.
  13. Unbelievable isn't it? Groundspeak store the date in Pacific Daylight Time. Here in New Zealand I need to log before 1900, though can get away with 2000 or 2100 depending if our two countries are observing daylight savings.
  14. Follow this to edit or remove the home location Groundspeak has stored for you: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=108 I recommend using one at least close to your actual home, it's very useful in searches.
  15. 1. there seems to be a bug where sometimes the map won't load. Zooming/moving/quitting usually fixes it. 2. downloading caches for offline use only downloads info about the caches — not the map. If you get lucky the app will remember some of the map tiles you've already looked at.
  16. If you're using the iPhone app, just tap on the smiley/cache to refresh the data, and it should disappear. At least that works the other way around when it's not showing a smiley for me 😼
  17. Why disgusted? We (I'm Kiwi) still had the same 48 hour window as everyone else to find a cache.
  18. Totally agree that Groundspeak isn't listening. e.g. Despite numerous requests, even the basic feature request to turn off the notification when close to a cache, has been ignored on the forums and not implemented in the app. The app is poorly designed, missing basic features, and buggy. Groundspeak are on their own slow schedule, and blinkered mission, to update it. Funny: still haven't worked out how to find a GeoTour in the updated app.
  19. The Personal Cache Note seen on the website? You can't access it in the current version of the app.
  20. Is it not possible to upload an image to these forums?! Anyway, don't remember how I got this, but amused me and thought was testament to the current app's quality.
  21. Delete and reinstall?! You don't lose much, except that the welcome videos are triggered again.
  22. @Kckd working for me, thanks for quick response. @skorpio08 did you quit the app? Double-click the home button, then swipe the app up until it disappears.
  23. A workaround from a quick experiment: create a pocket query of the area you're after on the website, then go into the list in the app and tap the button to show the caches in the map.
  24. I find it hard to believe this receiver would improve the accuracy on a current iPhone: 1. I've found mine incredibly accurate — usually within a few metres, 2. iPhones also use Wi-Fi and GLONASS (Russia's GPS satellites) to improve and speed up location finding.
  25. Yep, same problem. iOS 9.3.2 on an iPad Air 2.
