  1. Good job (some of you)fellas, I asked the little girl who works in the office to get this out here so that everyone interested could enjoy a few hours of hunting new caches. Her brand new exposure to our game and to the site geocaching.com is this cyclic argument. I could not believe it when she told me what was happening till I saw it with my own two eyes. To the guys who think this is a commercial event, that some pinstriped fat man chomping on a cigar is squeezing the last few dollars from your children is behind this, you are wrong. EVERYONE of those who placed a cache for the personal enjoyment of the game is a registered user, some going back to 2003.

Did those of you who flamed, oh yeah.., flamed(although the respondent who does not think it is flaming is very eloquent) this notice the moderator within this topic? If this was an unsanctioned event, why can you still see it, read it and flame it? When you state that this event is breaking rules, but the mods do not act, who is the one with egg on his face? Everything you state without an action is moot. The moderators know their job, do you attempt to train them? Arrogant.

What rules is this event breaking? Bring it before the mods, not in this topic. They will make the necessary adjustments. Till then the Ignore feature on this site is getting a work out, it is very functional.

Sam, please don't make it worse by claiming your wife Suzanne is just some girl from the office (that you manage) who never heard of geocaching before.

  2. Please don't post the same topic to multple forums. See the forum guidelines linked at the top left of every page.

Spam: Posting the same message, or an unsolicited commercial message, to one or many topics or boards is considered spam. Duplicate messages may be deleted or consolidated by our moderators. Please do your best to post new topics to the appropriate forum board. Moderators can take action when a thread should be moved to a more appropriate section.

    Closing this duplicate topic.

  3. Anyone interested in a GPS Map60csx?

It is loaded with Topo maps for all of New England.

    Please make a reasonable offer.

There are no scratchs on the screen or housing and the unit would pass for brand new.

    Thank you!

    Jeff

You may have better luck placing this in the 'GPS Garage Sale' forum. It is quite likely this will be moved for you by NJ Admin.

    Moved.

  4. I am somewhat reluctantly closing this thread in favor of this one in the main forum.

Because the AT covers several different regional forums, and because Groundspeak is actively involved with this, I feel it's important to keep as much info as possible all in one place where everyone can find it, rather then spread out among many different threads. Please continue posting information there.

I've spent a fair amount of time in the last few days talking with Shauna and advocating for many of these caches. If you own a cache you feel was wrongly archived, stand up and fight for it! Let Groundspeak know directly so they can foward it to the NPS. Lots of the archived cache owners don't read the forums. If you know someone who's cache was wrongly archived, tell them to contact Groundspeak about it. It may still be possible to get many of these caches unarchived.

  5. Interesting note... your statement that I have violated (in the past) the respect guideline... here's the line from the guidelines...

"You and not Groundspeak, are entirely responsible for all content that you upload, post or otherwise transmit via the Site. You agree not to:

    (a) Upload, post or otherwise transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, embarrassing, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable to any other person or entity. "

Small correction. The lines you quote are from the Terms Of Use, not the forum rules.

    You want this http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?act=boardrules

Some things to keep in mind when posting:
