  1. Anyone been for a Visit to Geocaching HQ? I would love to hear about your visit, what I should do when I visit, things not to miss, did you buy anything?
  2. Geocaching by the numbers There are more than 3 million active geocaches worldwide. Geocaches are hidden in 191 different countries on all seven continents (even Antarctica)! More than 642 million "Found it" and "Event Attended" logs have been recorded since the game started in 2000. Currently, there are over 361,000 geocache owners throughout the world. Geocachers gather at over 36,000 events annually to share stories and play the game. There are more than 200 geocaching organizations around the world. Geocaching.com is translated into 24 languages, Android and iOS apps are translated into over 20 languages. (Thanks to www.geocaching.com for these Geocaching Facts)
  3. I remove archived and abandoned caches too
  4. How do you decide which geocache to visit? Is your choice based on Geocaching Goals, What close by, Fav Points?
  5. A box of 9mm Bullets wrapped up in silver tape hidden in an Abandoned Building
  6. My first geocache find was an Ammo Can on the Side of a Mountain. I didnt know anything about Goecaching at the time. I was 3 guys huddled around this Ammo Can and I though "Oh that has to be Drugs or Money in there". I made the decision to take whatever they were hiding. To my surprize it was a geocache. Seven year later Im hooked.
  7. Other than geocaches and their contents, What is the weirdest thing you have discovered whilst out caching?
  8. What 3 words or phrases best sum up what geocaching means to you?
  9. What is your default excuse you give to muggles who ask what you are up to or if you need help?
  10. List 3 essential things you take on a geocaching adventure (excluding GPS, pen and swaps)?
  11. What is your current geocaching goal, if you have one? My goal is to get my 10,000th Find by the end of 2022
  12. Do you remember your first geocache find?
  13. Dose Geocaching HQ still have Geocacher of the Month and Geocache of the Month? What an excellent idea. I hope it still is a thing.
  14. WOW...If only you were in Australia, I would jump at something like that.
  15. My sister who has just started geocaching (MelNLil) loves SWAG...!
  16. I have always used Cable ties for trees but I keep them loose allowing the tree to grow. If they need adjusting I just cut the cable tie and replace with a bigger one or two looped together. For extra care towards the tree, I feed the cable tie through a piece of old garden hose. This ensures that the cable tie dose not cut into the tree over time.
  17. Like many other Geocachers, I have a Flag Counter (FlagCounter.com) on the Bottom of my Geocaching Profile. Lately I have noticed that the counter has stopped working. Is this a Groundspeak issue, decision or something technical with FlagCounter.com? Will this counter ever work again or should I just delete it?
  18. Also deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, foxes, woodchucks, skunks, cats and dogs eat soap. There are two common reasons, the first time they were probably just curious about it and bit into it. This is highly likely as soaps tend to have a very nice smell. Perhaps the taste wasn't off-putting so they decided to try to eat it.
  19. I have found food, condoms, cigarette butts, broken glass, tampons, lube, rocks, poo, and fingernails in caches before. Why people think this is swap I do not know.
  20. I got a spare ladder, not as tall as my other one. Thanks for the heads up Colleda
