  1. I don't know how well this would work, but I'll throw it out there. A guy I knew was in the business of making stickers and decals and such. He had some material that was black in daylight and reflected white fairly well from what I saw at night. Perhaps something like that would work? Tack some strips to trees with small black thumbtacks?
  2. Greetings from the US I'm just getting back into geocaching this year after a bit of a hiatus. Things have changed over the last couple of years. Namely, there are several kinds of caches now! How fun! I like seeing an inventive twist put on it, especially with caches being so numerous now. So, while reading up on locationless caches I stumbled across this one and I'm completely intrigued. Give it a read, and if you'd be willing to help me out I'd be most appreciative. Assuming I did this correctly, my half of the coordinates come out to 26 38.72. As for N, E, S, W... I think I'm going to shoot for E 026 38.72. It looks like this will place me on a line through Eastern Europe, which strikes me as an interesting region of the world. Anybody on the other side of the world near this line and willing to help?

  4. I agree, but I've seen the same with traditional caches as well. A few years ago when I started (and before taking a break due to life getting in the way), caches were far fewer and much more often in interesting locations. Now there are so many that some seem to be placed simply for the sake of placing them. Micro or not.
  5. For what it's worth, I like micros. I only started encountering them this past winter/spring. Why I like them is this: 1) they can be hidden in places that a traditional cache cannot, not to mention they can be creative with the use of 2) even in a "traditional" location, they're harder to find 3) for me, the location of the cache is the reward I keep a stock of goodies to leave in traditional caches if I see somthing I like, but for me I cache to see places I might normally have gone and to log my visit. To me the rest of the cache is relatively unimportant. It's all about getting theer and seeing what there is to see. Just my $.02
  6. Duh! I think I just answered my own stupid question. Why not pretend I "found" them and search like the actual found one I hold right now? It's much too late for me to be mucking around with this. LOL!
  7. OK, here's the story... I bought 4 travels bugs about 3 years ago. Then I moved before releasing them, they got lost in the shuffle and lay dormant until their recent discovery. Now I want to send them forth into the world as I get back into geocaching. I only activated 3, don't ask me why. I can only find 3. Seems convenient, doesn't it? Here's where it gets interesting, I have 3 tags and 3 TB#s listed in my inventory. However, I have no idea 3 years after activating them and losing the paper I wrote them on which TB# corresponds to which tag. And worse yet, I don't know if the 3 TB#s in the inventory necessarily line up with all 3 in my hand. That 4th MIA bug could be one of those listed in the inventory. In fact I'm almost sure it is as it was the "sister tag" to the other open one I have here. The remaining 2 are still sealed in their original envelops. My question is, is there a way to figure out which TB# goes to which tag? Or am I stuck releasing them as a team? Thanks for any help you can offer, Rob
