  1. I am having the same problem except I have a Vista Cx. I have downloaded the latest drivers from garmin and following the instructions to the letter still doesn't solve the problem. I have had the unit for a year and a half with no problems and suddenly my pc won't recognize it. It's not the usb hub since other things like my iPod will work from the same port. The unit is running on external power so it knows it's plugged in but when I try to use MapSource and receive data from the device it can't find a gps connected. Argh!!!! Help?
  2. By all means. I can email you the high res version if you would rather.
  3. Thank you both for your replies! Andylphoto, that is indeed the area we were in. Our house is in McBride. I admit you kind of blew my brain how you figured that out. Thanks again, this geocaching stuff is awesome!
  4. My geocaching bf knew about these since he was little and since we recently got involved in geocaching he thought they might be benchmarks of some sort. These are close to Lake Texoma in Oklahoma on Corps of Engineers land. Both had a sign next to them reading- "US Boundary C of E". TIA!!
  5. I am new to geocaching and have recently purchased several geocoins. I like to collect coins in general and these are a great conversation piece. I have only found one geocoin in a cache, usually they are listed in the inventory and not in the cache anymore. It was that geocoin, a Crowesfeat30, that got me started collecting. Since then I have seen some "replicas" in caches and I think that's the way to go. I don't have tons of extra spending money laying around so when I decide to buy a coin it's because I really love the design. I took close up pics of my coins, printed them out and glued it to a wooden nickel I got at Hobby Lobby. I will lacquer them and include a goal card and release them that way. If people are disappointed by not finding the real thing that's ok, at least they will find something.
  6. Thanks much for posting this information. I have more electronics than I know what to do with and updates always slip my mind. I can especially use the "Enable the Quit button function on the geocache compass page".
  7. I found one of those new man pads by Serenity the other day, unused and still in the wrapper. Since I am a girl and couldn't use it I left it for the next finder, maybe he needs bladder control?
  8. Pearl has accompanied me on most of my finds. She has yet to actually locate a cache but she is great at reverse bushwhacking to get out of the woods. She's also a great muggle distractor. People focus on her and forget to ask me why I am walking in circles staring at the ground. I'm Ready!! Let's go!!
