  14. I've had good responses from hands on logging requirements, such as digging a "well" in sand to see what a water table does or comparing two soil types found near each other by smell, texture, reflectivity etc. Finding a fossil to photograph is another. Combining history with a geological site, such as locations mentioned in the Lewis and Clark Journals can be appealing to a larger audience as well. An EC can also be written up as an exciting discovery instead of coming off as a textbook lesson plan.
  15. Our geocaching hero is Team Kryptos. Many of the first caches we found were put out by them and they have influenced our own particular style of hides, historical places and creative critter caches. Their Tom Flint , River Pirate series was both creative and a real adventure to take part in and had actual cache guardians to prevent unwary seekers from the pirate treasure. This guardian of one of there caches (not a planned part of the cache) inspired our guardian series, which we have had a lot of fun making unique containers for. Thanks to our Hero, Team Kryptos for making our early exposure to caching fun, and showing us that with a little imagination, anyplace can become a grand adventure.
